Miles' journey to becoming Spider-Man continues! Will Miles live up to Peter Parker's legacy? A mysterious figure from Peter Parker's past returns!
The first arc of Miles Morales reaches its conclusion. There is still more to his story but we're finally seeing what others in the Ultimate Universe think of him having powers and wearing a Spider-Man outfit. Other questions are answered and the future of Miles is determined. Bendis once again proves he can capture the voice of a young Spider-Man and does so in a way that isn't just a rehash of what he already did. Miles is a different character and you can't help but like and root for him. We may not be over the death of Peter Parker but Miles has earned himself a spot as a great character in the Ultimate Universe. Read Full Review
As ever, the only substantial criticism that can be handed out to Bendis and Pichelli's "Ultimate Spider-Man" is that there isn't remotely enough of it. Every issue feels to short, and every gap between them too long. I think it's time to accept the fact that Bendis knows what he's doing with Ultimate Comics Spider-Man. Miles has been introduced and now he has the costume, so at this point it's up to Bendis to carve a unique path for the character. So far he's done a pretty bang-up job. Read Full Review

There seems to be a slower than normal burn going on in the Ultimate Comics universe, and the once mighty Ultimate Spider-Man seems to have lost some of its footing. Though sales remain strong, if the story pace doesn't pick up a bit, I fear the series will continue to slide. I like Miles as a character, and hope he finds his direction soon, and it looks like we will with the semi-conclusion to this arc. There seemed to be some tire-spinning in the repetition of information readers are already familiar with, so it's not going to kill you if you miss this issue. Overall, Ultimate Comics All-New Spider-Man #5 is an okay read for me, earning 3.5 out of 5 Stars. Read Full Review
I don't understand how's Electro still alive. And he's still alive even after this issue... Crazy...
