Maybe it's when Gwen starts joking about how incredibly old Batroc is: "One time I saw your first issue on Antiques Roadshow." Or maybe you're the snooty cultured sort and you click into "I love this" mode as soon as Batroc starts singing "I regret nothing" on page one. Long before it's over, this issue will jolly you out of your cancellation blues and remind you why you love this title. Yes, Gwenpool is ending. But it's not overyet, and by the last page of #24, it shows every sign of going out on top. Read Full Review
Another series we shouldn't have to say goodbye to already. Hastings and Gurihiru are working through the cancellation like the rest of us and it's translating into a truly unique comic book experience. Read Full Review
This is Marvel’s best comic right now. I can’t believe they’re ending it. :( I keep holding out hope that Marvel just announced Geenpool’s cancellation because it’s a peer of the current storyline (it is)... One can hope, right?
Batroc returns to help Gwen try her hand at super-villainy with a gorgeous flying casino caper. This is incredibly close to perfect for a penultimate comic. While Gwen's medium awareness adds a bittersweet tone to the end, the balance of the issue is a brilliant victory lap that shows Gwen and one of her best supporting characters at the very apex of their lovability. Virtually-faultless visuals by GuriHiru enhance the "going out on top" feeling. While I'm not looking forward to the end of Gwenpool's series, I *am* eager to see what kind of high note the creators end on.
이제 1이슈만 남았다니...ㅠㅠㅜ
I will miss this take on Dad-roc too, Gwen Poole! Neat surprise Chance reimagined too.
