FINAL EXECUTION nears its brutal finish! X-Force finally faces the new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants all together!
If there is one Marvel comic you should be reading, its Uncanny X-Force. It is coming to a close quickly, but with all of the insane plot twists I'm having trouble trying to figure out what's going to happen next and that is exactly what a comic book should be. Get this issue, get every issue, but especially those from the Final Execution arc. Is there an 11 in the scoring system? Read Full Review
This comic is really beautiful. From the way the story unfolds (tragically), to the incredible art of Phil Noto; there is nothing about this comic that I did not enjoy. Additionally, the way the reader is left off, not knowing what to expect next is great. The comic ends on a cliff-hanger and the reader is still left in the dark over whether or not Evan will turn to the "dark side." Great, organized issue coupled with really stunning art, perfect character characterization and a great display of character development. What more could you ask for? Read Full Review
Hey, hey, this was a great comic! First off, this version of the Brotherhood is probably among my all-time favorites. It's basically a who's who of X-villains, but without Magneto or Apocalypse there to monopolize the page-time. There's really not all that much I can say negatively about this one... Everything played out the way I would have hoped, and this issue ended with all of the heroes in mortal jeopardy... What more could you want? Hell, even Daken was written well, which is something I haven't seen since his glory days in Dark Wolverine! Nope, no complaints here. Read Full Review
Still making Remender look good is Phil Noto. While former regular series artist Esad Ribic's art had a painstakingly detailed look to it that you could just tell was incredibly hard to do, Noto makes it look easy. His images are clean and precise with powerful moments of action and subtle nuances in his character work that sell every word spoken. It may look easy, but storytelling this good doesn't happen over night. Fortunately, Noto will be there to end the series with Remender, and if this issue tells anything, it's going to be good. With three issues to go, I can't wait to see what happens next. Read Full Review
"Uncanny X-Force" will be replaced with two new "X-Force" series and at this point they could go anywhere. Let's hope, though, that the writers of those new series keep "Uncanny X-Force" in mind as a potential model. This is more than just the little book that could; it's a model for how mutant team books should work. Juggling this many characters and storylines isn't easy, but Remender makes it look like a breeze, and fun to boot. Read Full Review
Another solid outing for Uncanny X-Force. If there's one thing this book is, it's consistent, and as everything comes together and Remender brings his run full circle, back to his very first arc, it's still a guaranteed good read. Read Full Review
Phil Noto continues to impress on the artistic side with his crisp and clean style. A clean art style is always interesting to see on such a dark (and bloody) book, but when it works it works superbly, and that's exactly what we get here from Noto. I do miss Opena's work on this series, but I'm happy to see Phil Noto getting to show off his chops here, especially given the wide array of interesting and intricately designed characters. One of the best comics ever. This issue was just so crazy I loved it
The last few issues haven't been at "Remender Status" for me. Which means that they are really good issues, but not dynamite. I think that, when read in graphic novel format, it would go unnoticed....but I just keep expecting the hammer to drop in this closing arc, bombing us with some massive revelation to close up the series, leaving comic fans reeling across the world. It hasn't happened yet. It's going to; we all know this. But having to wait weeks on end for for each segment is slowing the series down a little for me. I also miss Fantomex.
