I‘m so glad you noticed all this stuff too. I was thinking I was just missing something. Or going mad. Or that maybe I’ve had a stroke. This comic is just abysmally bad. It’s as if no one responsible for the creation of this nonsense even cares.

Apr 15, 2026We see some really great team-ups, excellent dynamics, and a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. But what really drives this home is the artwork that’s provided by the excellent creative team. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - William Tucker
Apr 15, 2026X-Men United Issue 2 is great at keeping small stories within such an enormous scale. The personalities of the characters shine, and the involvement of Captain America beautifully bridges the two worlds, exploring growth, pain, and injustice. Read Full Review

Fanlight Zone - Josh Allen
Apr 15, 2026A bit of a mis-step after what was a stellar start to the great series. It does however seem to be setting up some interesting stories, and should hopefully bounce back with issue 3. The artwork also continues to be absolutely stunning and some of the best you’ll see this week. Read Full Review

KPB Comics - A.S Tiger
Apr 15, 2026X-Men United #2 begins with an interesting moment, but ultimately does not inspire confidence. The pacing and set-up of the story feel flawed and reversed, and the art remains a weak point for the series. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez
Apr 20, 2026Where this series falls apart is when it goes away from its concept to do the usual X-Men superhero team thing and push too hard on Cyclops as an antagonist. More of a focus on the mentoring side of things, especially spotlighting more of the young mutants, will be beneficial for X-Men United’s long-term success. Read Full Review

AIPT - David Brooke
Apr 15, 2026X-Men United #2 keeps the ideas coming, but the execution does not always keep up. Eve Ewing continues to build out a fascinating premise, and the addition of Captain America introduces a new layer that could pay off in a big way. The problem is how long it takes to get there. The issue spends too much time resetting the board before finally pushing the story forward, and by the time the mission kicks in, it feels like it is just getting started. The art also struggles to elevate the material, leaving some moments flatter than they should be. There are still things to like here, especially if you are invested in the concept, but this chapter feels more like a bridge than a standout. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez
Apr 15, 2026X-Men United #2 is what happens when you have a novel idea but lack the skill or desire to adhere to the details to make it work. Ewing’s script is an all-out mess. And it’s only by virtue of the art by Tiago Palma that this comic isn’t a complete waste. Read Full Review

It’s incredible to try to comprehend that the editorial team thought, planned, and chose the creative team for a title that was supposedly important to this era of the X-Men,and delivered this atrocity. Bad art, bizarre story. The X-line is dead.

Issue #1 was really bad. so let's recap with unexplained things-
1-featuring a school created by Emma in the astral plane thats fake but also real?( how and didn't we do this already?
2- It has a danger room that can kill you ( how? ).
3-it has a lunch room to eat ( why? isn't the food fake?) Emma is headed to get food in issue 2 also for reasons.
4- the worst characterizations of Wolverine ,Cyclops , and kitty in recent memory.just more attacking of cyclops. the best x leader ever.
5-the school is left burning at issues end(how does that work when its not a real school?)
6- Scott says gathering Mutants makes them siting ducks for attack- ( how? it's virtual and not real)
