AN EPIC JUMPING-ON POINT LEADING DIVINITY THROUGH THE WHOLE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE! New York Times best-selling writer Matt Kindt (X-O MANOWAR, Mind MGMT) and explosive artist Renato Guedes (BLOODSHOT REBORN, Wolverine) present an awe-inspiring introduction to the largest independent superhero universe in comics - as told through the eyes of Valiant's most powerful cosmic force! DIVINITY, a lost Russian cosmonaut newly returned to Earth with god-like powers, has successfully restored the world to order after the reality-altering event known as the Stalinverse. But how can a man - even one with near-divine abilities - know for certain that thmore
Overall this series has been one of my favourites. I don't mean in modern day comics, I mean this is one of my favourite stories of all time. I love it so much it is just brilliant. The art might be a little off putting at first, but the story is what sells it. So call your local comic shop right now, and get them to hold a copy of it, then read all the other reviews on this site of course, and then go and buy it. Stay tuned for Eternity which will be out soon! Read Full Review
Stop the presses because Divinity #0 is out of this world! Literally, it will take its readers across time and space, have them traverse the great unknown and have them asking questions. More then just what is going to happen next or why is this so good, but deeper questions, the kind one would normally find only in a philosophy class at a major university. So come along and join the characters on this journey, and perhaps something will be learned along the way to change lives. Read Full Review
DIVINITY #0 is a surprisingly personal dive into the Valiant Universe that leverages its title character's unique perspective. Read Full Review
Divinity #0 truly is “an epic jumping-on point!” Giving us a brief, yet immersive look into the history of the Valiant Universe and it's most powerful hero, the creative team do an excellent job of making this comic accessible. Not only will it appeal to new readers, but it also has more than enough to keep current fans entertained, with it sure to convert some new followers. Read Full Review
This is an utterly brilliant comic in every way. Read Full Review
The story of Divinity has been told through a series of mini-series for the past couple of years and this one does a superb job of bridging the gap from the past stories into what Eternity will offer. It reads like a good starting point for what is to come. In the past, I have always scored the Divinity books high and this is as good as any in the series. Read Full Review
Divinity #0 is an intellectual book posing many important questions for todays world. This issue is to be followed up by Eternity #1 on sale October 25th. Valiant has been knocking it out of the park this year with its new releases and I cannot wait to find out what happens next in the Valiant Cosmos. Read Full Review
If Divinity #0 is any indication of what is to come, I greatly look forward to Eternity #1. It is shaping up to be one of thee outstanding Valiant titles out right now. Read Full Review
The story in Divinity #0 is solid, but it's more of seeing how Divinity feels about each character he's had a run in with in the past. So, in a way, it does feel like a zero issue. It's meant to define the character and show you what makes him tick. Divinity's meeting with Ninjak for example not only shows what Divinity is thinking, but also does a great job of showing just how cool Ninjak is, a character who also happens to be written by Kindt. The end has a nice surprise and gives us a sneak peek at the next Divinity mini series which I'm really excited about. I'd definitely recommend this zero issue for the art alone, but Kindt does a really nice job of showing how this all powerful hero thinks and feels about all the major players within the Valiant Universe. All things considered, most zero issues aren't really that big a deal and offer little to get excited about, but here we have a creative team that really raises the bar. Matt Kindt and Renato Guedes give us a story we can sink our teeth into with art that is a feast for the eyes. There is ample content to hold returning readers attention and to pull new readers into a world that is full of original characters and creative stories as well as some darn good storytellers, as is evidenced here. Maybe not the best introduction to the Valiant U there is, but a great introduction to the world of Divinity and soon Eternity. Read Full Review
Even if I were a fan of Valiant and knew these characters, this would still be an entire comic of boring exposition, and I'd be frustrated that the truly excellent artwork by Renato Guedes is being wasted on it. Read Full Review
First time ever reading about this character. I have bee hooked on Valiant since X-O Manowar (2017-). To be honest, Matt Kindt is the main reason I touched this book... totally worth it. I learned so much about Adam in this one issue, and its a must read if you've never had exposure to him before.
Don't tell anyone, but I read it twice because I was so blown away by the story, art, and its delivery.
A great summary to the current state of the Valiant universe. Done with amazing art at that. Looking forward to Eternity.
Great start for the character! If you're new to Divinity and wanna catch up on what you've missed there is no better way than to simply read this. The art is stunning and to top it all off we get an amazing little cherry on top in the final panel.
