Such a solid book, I want to talk about it! Refuse to open a can of worms and spoil it for anyone, but I have things I want to debate regarding this book, things to discuss. Feel like a little interaction regarding this book, feel free to drop me a message below. Let me know what you think about the book, about the biopic at the end of the book, and what you think of the characters! Read Full Review
Secret Weapons is quite simply the real deal. I think it has something to offer to everybody, and it’s my new go-to if I want to recommend Valiant to a non-fan. I think it may be the very best that Valiant has to offer, and that it lofty praise for a company that consistently hits home runs. I would stack this up with the best output of Joshua Dysart in the original Harbinger series, and I do not take that statement lightly. Reading this comic feels like kicking back in a leather recliner with a fine scotch and a cigar. It's a sensual, engrossing experience. Talk to any Valiant fan, and you will quickly learn that they are absolutely rabid for a Valiant movie. Dear Valiant Fans: this comic right here is the first Valiant movie, and it kicks ass. Overall, Secret Weapons is a fantastic series that's just getting started. It has a really interesting group of characters and ups the danger level with its low-power team being hunted by a "psiot-eating" monster named Rex-O. The creative team has proven talent and is doing a great job telling this story about a team that is very different from what we're used to seeing in super-hero comics. You should join me in reading this wonderful series! Read Full Review
I said in my previous review that this was shaping up to be another home run for Valiant, and I'll stand by that.Secret Weaponsis without a doubt the best comic with the word Secret in it's title this summer; whether you're a Valiant fan or not, make sure you're reading this. Read Full Review
Limited series don't last forever, so it's always rewarding to see one like Secret Weapons come together as quickly as it has. Read Full Review
There are still plenty of mysteries to unravel, as wounds are healing, not the least of which is who are the real secret weapons and what is their target. This book continues to stand out on my pull list and I cannot wait for the next issue. Read Full Review
Secret Weapons is shaping up to be a great addition into the Harbinger mythos. This is a story that wouldn't necessarily fit into the main line, but SW still stands as an engaging and personal story on par Peter and the exploits of the Renegades. Read Full Review
Secret Weapons #2 takes us deeper into the world of the rejected. A story that needed to be told for Livewire and these kids, and better now than never at all. Psiots aren't all equal and this was the best exploration which further establishes Harada as the monster we know him to be. Read Full Review
The story is starting to build, but requires the reader to be very patient as it sorts itself out. It shows a lot of promise, but it's getting there slowly. Read Full Review
I was a little on the fence about checking out this series. It was the first time Valiant was bringing in a big writer outside the world of comics, but it worked out. The team has put together yet another strong team of pisots to follow, but with this group, I'm vested more in them due to how they were labeled to be rejects. I would love to see them do more and be a bigger part of the Valiant U. I'm invested and completely sold on Secret Weapons. Read Full Review
'Secret Weapons' is evolving into one of the most engrossing comics with a unique set of characters. Heisserer is weaving a thrilling mystery within a story of determination and grit. Livewire is a powerful matriarchal figure shielding these rejects and trying to save them from nefarious forces. It's a story you don't want to end with the final page. This is a must-buy. I feel invested in these characters specifically, which is supposed to happen. However, I would like them to be a little more fleshed out. I want to see them as more than just rejects and their memories of being at the Willows, but that will hopefully come with the next two issues. Read Full Review
While clearly executed by a talented team, Secret Weapons #2 doesn't do a very good job of justifying its existence outside of a bridge series to the next major Valiant event, which is disappointing, since the series had so much potential in its premiere issue. Read Full Review
This issue wasn't as strong as the first one, but the story is still the best I have read in years. Secret Weapons is going to lead to incredible things, especially if you have been following along with Harbinger Renegade. I really enjoy following our band of misfit rejects, its really down to earth. It kind of feels like The Goonies, except, well you know... superpowers and other exciting things.
Stays consistent to the previous issue. Not much to add other than it could have been more interesting, but still plays out very nicely as a comic.
