ALL-NEW ARC! WHO ARE...THE UNITED?
A new day has dawned for the elite assemblage of heroes called UNITY, and, in the wake of the Armor Hunters' invasion, the time has come to grow their ranks. Who will be the next fearless hero to join the roster of the world's most elite superteam? And just what is the international strike force called THE UNITED - and why have they marked UNITY's own X-O Manowar, Ninjak, Livewire, and Eternal Warrior for elimination? Red-hot creators Matt Kindt and CAFU detonate the planet's first superteam vs. superteam war right here with a bold new beginning for UNITY!

Fortress of Solitude - Byron Hendricks Nov 19, 2014

Will Unity survive the inclusion of their new teammate, that will definitely bring a new dynamic to the party; or will The United stand tall and eliminate the targets in their crosshairs? When it comes to a situation like this, you gotta have Faith. Read Full Review

Rhymes With Geek - Wesley Messer Nov 14, 2014

All around a good start to a new arc for Unity. There's a lot happening here and it is impressive that Kindt managed to make it look easy. If you've ever been curious at all about Unity, make this your starting point. Unity #12 is a great example of how to do a jumping on point issue. You won't be lost, you won't be confused, and it gives a great foundation for stories to come. Read Full Review

    IGN - Jeff Lake Nov 13, 2014

Given the rather expansive nature of the read, CAFU is left with quite a bit of work to do. The artist responds ably, his detailed pencil work and cinematic eye working in fine concert with Kindt's complex script. There's not much in the way of action, yet CAFU still manages to draw the eye, his panel work reminiscent of a political thriller. The highlight is undoubtedly the video collage of Unity candidates, as he effectively establishes the greater Valiant U in one simple but important panel. With changes good and bad on the horizon and a host of interesting characters new and old to cull from, there's never been an easier time to hop on board. Read Full Review

Hulking Reviewer - Kareem Ali Nov 12, 2014

Unity #12 begins a new and interesting stage for the team but somewhat rehashes the status quo established in Armor Hunters: Aftermath. Governments from around the world conspiring to counter what they see as an abuse of power on the part of the U.S. and British governments definitely has potential, as does the elite team formed to go against Unity. The build up to introducing the new Unity member was entertaining, and I'm very intrigued about the choice. And I think that will make the team interactions more entertaining. There wasn't much action since the focus was on story development but I'm looking forward to seeing the team in action next issue in some capacity. Read Full Review

Geeked Out Nation - Jideobi Odunze Nov 12, 2014

Unity #12 is that first step to Valiant creating a cohesive Universe in which the impossible is something everyone is aware of. Many opportunities created by revealing those who have powers to the world and it all starts with this eventual conflict with The United. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Jim Johnson Nov 12, 2014

"Unity" #12 is terrific on many fronts; it welcomes readers with open arms, makes them feel comfortable when they get there, and delivers a fun story with nods to the past that fits right in with the present day context of the title. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Dustin Cabeal Nov 13, 2014

Overall this is just a great point for new readers of Unity and Valiant to start with. It's not bad for the rest of us either as it begins to build new plot line and dramatically change the makeup of this series and in a lot of ways the Valiant U. Check it out either way! Read Full Review

This is great set up for what the Unity comic is supposed to be. Valiants grand Superhero team finally established in the world. They have a headquarter now(The most awesome headquarter in all of comics). A new member. New foes to fight. The art is great. The writing is great. Really recommended, even if you never read Unity.

I love where this comic is going, though I found this issue a little slow.

There isn't enough character development or reflection to make this interesting. The dynamic between Gilad and Ninjak is a little better but it's still the same joke. I'm not expecting to jump back into action right away after Armor Hunters... But this is just really boring. Aric better not be an occasional team member like this suggests, he's the only interesting character!
