Absolute Batman is a bold reimagining of the Batman mythos. Since the Dark Knight has always dwelled in the shadows, this Absolute universe is a perfect fit. Scott Snyder masterfully reworks the mythology in intriguing ways, while Nick Dragotta's energetic art practically leaps off the page.

Tom Taylor's Detective run begins with a strategic long-term approach. He skillfully expands Batman's mythology. I'm not a fan of Federico Vicentini's art style for this series. I believe Spider-Man comics generally benefit from a cleaner, more classic art style. I find this style to be chaotic and confusing. However, Cody Ziglar's writing is exceptional. He has done more to develop Miles Morales' character and his supporting cast than any other writer. This issue is a prime example, showcasing the excellent characterization of the relationship between the Vulture and his granddaughter, Tiana. It would be ideal to have a different artist to fully complement Ziglar's strong writing.

Cody Ziglar continues to impress with his strong grasp of comic book storytelling. He excels at crafting intricate character relationships and dramatic arcs that evoke the best qualities of soap opera writing. While the flashy super heroics draw readers in, it's the compelling cast of characters and their evolving dynamics that truly captivate.

G. Willow Wilson has transformed a classic Batman villain into a captivating protagonist, deserving of her own series. She skillfully constructs an intriguing world around Poison Ivy that draws readers in. Marcio Takara's art is the perfect complement.

This first issue attempts to tackle a lot. While filled with social commentary, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it leaves little room for developing the core mystery of the Eaglestar company. A better balance between story and commentary is needed. The art is good but not spectacular. I'm curious to see where the rest of the series takes us. I believe Nick Spencer handled the Sam Wilson version of Captain America the best, and I haven't seen the character written as well since. I see some potential here, but only subsequent issues will tell.

Josie Campbell delivers a solid performance with 'The Big Red Cheese.' The writing is entertaining and captures the tone and characterization well. Dan McDaid’s art is adequate. Nothing really spectacular here but still a good solid reading experience.

I've been a comic book reader for a long time, but I've never been a huge X-Men fan. Honestly, there are only a few X-Men runs that truly resonated with me. However, this current Storm series has completely captivated me. The writing is exceptional, and the art perfectly complements the story. The first three issues have been an absolute delight to read.

This issue masterfully utilizes dramatic tension. We witness a well-written Christmas gathering featuring the Parkers and Watsons, with the added intrigue of J. Jonah Jameson. I understand that Marvel's leadership may prefer to avoid a committed relationship between Peter and Mary Jane in the main series. However, I believe MJ and Peter have achieved iconic status as a couple, much like Lois and Clark. In the hands of a skilled writer, their dynamic can remain captivating and entertaining. Now that Miles Morales embodies the teenage Spider-Man, couldn't Peter evolve into an older, more committed figure in the main series? I am pleased that Ultimate Peter can enjoy a committed relationship with MJ in his universe, as this issue demonstrates how effectively it can work. And Marco Checchetto's artwork, as always, is exceptional.

This is a promising start to the series. The story is well-structured and offers numerous intriguing possibilities. The team members have a good dynamic, and the humor is well-placed. However, the art style is a bit of a miss for this series.
