All-New X-Men #20

Dec 18, 2013

Bendis character-building in the issue was well done and was very entertaining. The art team did just a great job putting this issue together. This series continues to be one of the top current X-men series. The stories are driven and entertaining that you'll never put it down. This issue keeps delivering and it is a must read. My top pick this week.

All-New X-Men #21

Jan 17, 2014

Bendis concludes the introduction of X-23 and her revenge for the Purifiers. It had some shining moments but not a big impact as the previous stories. The art team was splendid with pages full of details and superb character emotions. It might not be an important part to the grander part of the series but it is worth a look if you want to treat your eyes to nice things.

Slott ensure us he has not lost a step in the year time he has not written Peter. He establishes the Amazing Spider-Man feel while placing him in a new status quo. Ramos's and Delgado's exaggerated arts and colors are on top and fitting to the return of the amazing series. A great set up for old and new readers that will bring the character to a new direction. Amazing Spider-Man (2014) #4

Jul 23, 2014

Slott has started the gears that will drive us into Spider-Verse this issue. He accomplishes to address all the known and hidden plot lines in one issue. Slott works magic with Silk and creates a character that we'll fall for rather she's good or evil. I'll go on record to say that this art team is the Marvel dream team. Together, there are no better visuals in a book. This issue continues to deliver and prove why Amazing Spider-Man is Marvel's #1 series.

Amazing X-Men (2013) #4

Feb 23, 2014

Very little action but it was full of story. Answers to questions we all had is what lifts this issue up from it's lack of action. Aaron shows he has many sides to his writing style and it was a delightful change of pace. McGuinness' and Garcia' art in the series is fantastic. The art just jumps off the pages and needs to been seen if you haven't yet. There are a few X-books out but this month Amazing X-men #4 is truly the amazing one.

Armor Hunters #4

Sep 24, 2014

This issue was nothing short from epic. As Armor Hunters comes to a close, Venditti shows us the different sides of war. In the end both sides lose something but can also gain something valuable. Braithwaite and Martin finish off the series strong with action and expressive pages that will make you drool. Valiant definitely delivers a summer blockbuster and shows us the event books are capable being great.

Dec 11, 2013

This is a year 1 story that is jaw dropping and gripping. Another amazing issue by the Bat team. Synder gives us answers to some questions and more insight on Bruce's past while setting up more mysteries to explore. Capullo is showing his fans how much he appreciate us with his art being 110% every time but he is bested by Fco this issue. This book sells itself but if you ask me, This series has been on top of the charts week after week. This issue is no different and it is a must buy!

Edmondson has written a fantastic issue full of emotions and character development. He has shown us that Black Widow is more than an avenger and assassin. She is still normal within her own right like us folks. Noto just owns this issue with the colorful art work and the panel layouts. Noto was born for this book and I am glad to see him on it. If you are not reading this book yet then you are missing out on possibly one of the best series of 2014! I strongly recommend reading Black Widow.

Remender is looking to close this series on a bang literally! Remender bringing back Dimension Z helps the series get back on the must read list. He provided a Captain America story with little involvement of the character himself and succeeded in captivating me. The art team provided great art and colors while delivering free flowing high-octane action. This issue will show why Sam Wilson “The Falcon” is the very qualified person to take the mantle.

Flash (2011) #25

Manapul and Buccellato has a fun detective story that makes me want to follow more adventures of powerless Barry Allen or Harvey Bullock. Not a strong artistic finish but the story keeps this issue above average.
