Overall, this was a great retelling of a legend that I was already familiar with. Great respect was taken in bringing the legend to life in a way that is both entertaining and informational.

This is a fairly middle-of the road introductory issue. It offers a good setup for a story with great potential but offers very little outside of that. Future issues will decide if this is a must read or just for die-hard Umbrella Academy readers.

As the series gets closer to it's conclusion, plot points start to become clear, true motives are revealed, and we get some of the most eye-catching art of the series so far.

This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites and it seems to get better with every issue. This book was outstanding in every way; from the emotional story telling, to the art which ranges from bright and exciting to gloomy and distorted, to the page layouts which at times gave subtle foreshadowing and at others lent an added intensity to the action.

I am excited to see where this story leads in the remaining three issues. Hotel Oblivion has thus far been worth the wait in my opinion.
