Batman/Dylan Dog #1 is a hell of a start. The comic delivers two characters in Dylan Dog and Batman/Bruce Wayne that are so perfect together in a story that makes sense and doesn't feel forced. It has a look and flair that is a throwback to pulp adventures and Batman team-ups of the 90s. It's a fun comic that even readers unfamiliar with Dylan Dog can enjoy. A solid debut that has us already wanting more of this new dynamic duo. Read Full Review
The only truly new element in the issue is the combination of these two characters' narratives, but the execution is so good that readers will be reminded why both names are considered icons. Read Full Review
It doesn't break any new ground, but this issue has some interesting twists and creepy visuals that make it worth picking up as more than just a curiosity of an international crossover comic. Read Full Review
Despite characterization issues, 'Batman/Dylan Dog #1' is a fun introduction into the world of Dylan Dog and his new adventures with the Caped Crusauder. I can't wait to see where the story goes next. Read Full Review
Batman/Dylan Dog #1 is a perfect introduction to one of Italy's most popular comics. While this sort of crossover is an acquired taste, Batman and Dylan Dog are highly complementary characters. I believe this book will satisfy all but the most partisan of purists. Read Full Review
The premise, the art, and the colors in Batman/Dylan Dog #1 are fantastic, but the adventure itself is very formulaic. Future issues need to provide a bit more meat on the bone in terms of why the Joker is even in this particular fight, otherwise, all we have is a combination of Batman and the latest novelty that may be more akin to Austin Powers than John Constantine! All I know about Dylan Dog is from that 90’s flick Dellamorte Dellamore and I would love to read more on the character. I had fun here.
This was an interesting start, even though it was 60 pages, the story is far from over. Catwoman/Selina has now been captured twice. She needs to go back to superhero school apparently. I like the interaction between Batman and Dylan, though I don't think Graucho Marx works in a Batman book. It definitely has some nice fight scenes and drama. And I love that Bruce took over Downton Abby.
Solid interesting opening issue.
