As I mentioned before, it appeared to me to be a more Superman centric issue, and actually an arc for that matter. Maybe because we still have Clark as Superman, but Bruce is no longer Batman. Either way, even the Superman portions played out more like a story of Hercules, complete with large monsters, labors, and a Poseidon type character. TRUTH has been fun, but this was probably my least favorite out of all the issues so far. I really wish Bruce were here to help Superman navigate his way through this hard time for him. Or at least that Batman and Superman's dynamic wasn't so boring. I'm sure things will pick up as more players enter the fray and Gordon finally decides to make a move. Like I said, I enjoyed this issue for the most part and the cliffhanger certainly left me curious to see what will happen next. Although Gordon seems a little out of character and all the arguing between Batman and Superman gets a little old, it is a unique story with good art and I am on board for what comes next. Pak caps off the issue with the appearance of a very familiar but unexpected guest star, which helps shore up the Subterranea storyline for next issue. "Batman/Superman" #23 is a bit slow in advancing the Clark Kent/Jim Gordon relationship, but it's worthwhile mainly for Pak's ability to put readers inside of Clark's head. Read Full Review

Batman/Superman #23 may not be perfect, being a bit of a let down from last issue, but that doesn't mean that it's terrible. Having some intriguing twists and character interaction, the creative team leave us wanting more. Even if the present content is a little dull at times. Read Full Review

Greg Pak continues his story that is off the rails crazy compared with the other Truth issues and while it's different, it's not great.  Pak does a great job showing Superman's thoughts and fears over his depowerment, but this whole Subterrania story feels off.  Then, just when you thought it couldn't get crazier, Pak hits us with another cliffhanger that may be ridiculous, but has me curious for next issue. But the Perry scene is a disaster. The all too easy ' Gotham prisoners are victims of  circumstance, not evil criminals' feels a bit too simple a turn. And lastly, the foundation of The Truth, the depowered Superman, on the run, not trusted, and shunned by friends ... I still can't get behind this. I suppose that means I should give Greg Pak some kudos for engaging me as a reader, even for a little bit in this issue. Read Full Review
