This series shifts genres quite a bit between creative teams, which I suppose fits a character who's a master of disguise with an escape hatch around every corner in every city. Read Full Review
Catwoman #70 introduces a fresh layer of realism to the DC Universe that is both unlikely and welcome. We get a very nice indication that this story line will be chock full with fascinating intrigue, with changing locales and multiple competing powers that would make the entire story feel very like a 2000s spy thriller. This issue is definitely a drop in quality on all fronts from the previous one. The writing and visuals can't mask the genericness of the plot and the new characters emerging from every orifice of this story makes it hard to care for any of them beyond their appearances and generic character traits. As a psychological thriller this was for me a perfect take on Selina. All the elements of the Bourne Identity wrapped up in one of my all time favourite characters. Add in a bit of Mafia and it's a home run. The only thing was the art wasn't quite up to the story telling and although didn't spoil it at all , it could have been a whole lot better. Selina really needs a much stronger artist going forward.......JM
