Lastly, Moose Brumanns coloring is hot, adding the necessary special effects to the epic action scenes and sets. Geoff Johns is making good use of a well loved comics mythology while incorporating a cast of heavy hitting bad guys to devastating effect. These are just the opening salvos. Johns keeps the momentum going strong following The Sinestro Corps Special as he focuses in on Hal Jordan in this issue. When it boils down to it, this saga will pit Hal Jordan against his mentor once more, and this issue provides one of the biggest character development moments for Hal Jordan ever. I love Green Lantern, and I love Hal Jordan, and what Geoff Johns is doing with The Sinestro Corps War is absolutely amazing. I cant wait for Green Lantern Corps #14 when Sinestro confronts the current GL of his homeworld, one of my new favorites Soranik Natu. If you arent reading this storyline you really should be. Green Lantern #21 was another fantastic read. Johns just keeps crushing them out of the park on this title each and every month. The Sinestro Corps story arc is going to be nothing short of brilliant. Green Lantern is most certainly the best title that DC currently has on the market. I’m glad to see Ivan Reis back on the pencils. He has the attention to detail necessary for drawing an intergalactic war waged by members of various species and a clean line work that provides plenty of clarity. He is well on his way to becoming a superstar like Alan Davis and Bryan Hitch: two artists with whom he shares a similarity in style. I just wish he could keep up with a monthly schedule.
