New Guardians is great series that has so much to offer and provides me with everything I love about the Green Lantern Universe in a single, intricate, and super interesting storyline. Read Full Review

That said, the last page makes up for any of those discrepancies on pure fanboy credit. It would be a spoiler to discuss it blatantly, but suffice to say that Bedard has listened to GL fans and has given them exactly what they want to see. What makes the final moment so great is that it could only have happened to Kyle based on his past experiences in the Corps; it is not forced. Fun shenanigans involving all of the corps, an intriguing mystery, and a writer poised to deliver some well-crafted fan service? Oh hell yes. Read Full Review

Tony Bedard has begun to elevate his game with every issue of Green Lantern he writes. This series has become his baby just two issues in and he's making the best of it. It's just a good time to be a GL fan when four books are delivering every month. Read Full Review

Blog Of Oa - Myron Rumsey Nov 1, 2011

Despite that artistic issue, I loved issue two of New Guardians.  Kyle is pulled into a situation that is larger than he is and for right now he's a passenger on this crazy train.  Next issue is going to be great as presumably he will be thrown into conflict with not only the Guardians, but the rest of the New Guardians who are only minutes away from touching down on Oa.  This issue has a lot to offer between the action and intrigue and I for one can't wait for the third issue to arrive.  Four out of five lanterns. Comic Vine - Mat 'Inferiorego' Elfring Oct 26, 2011

Overall, I enjoyed the issue, but it was no where near as good as issue one. I'm loving the Kyle Rayner story as Ultimate Ring-barer, and I want to know how his powers will change. I'm glad that some of these B-List and C-List space characters have a place to call their home, and I loved the art on the splash pages. What I didn't like was the Ultimate Ring-barer costume Kyle wears at the end of the issue, and how every page just seemed dedicated to showing off how cool a character in the book was. Lastly, this issue completely changes the character of a Green Lantern staple, and it was a bummer for me. I recommend the series and issue though. Read Full Review

This hits home because their relationship is different because Ganthet chose Kyle to become a Green Lantern instead of the ring choosing him. Let me ask you one question: what happens when Kyle's back is against the wall and he has no choice but to wield the power of the seven rings at once???? Read Full Review
