Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
May 21, 2024One thing I really like here is that the story delves into some of the stranger periods of John's life, including his time with the Darkstars and his evolution into a God in the previous run. There are only three issues left, but this is one of the best stories the character has had in a long time. Read Full Review

May 23, 2024War Journal is just a quality comic. It's not upending the universe. All it does is allow Johnson, Montos and the rest of the creative team a viable platform to showcase John Stewart with some fresh and thrilling new threats. Read Full Review

May 22, 2024The issue sticks the landing though, bringing everything to a place that you can get back on board if you perhaps got a bit lost, but those who dive into all the threads and details along the way will once again be rewarded, and I can't wait to see what's right around the corner. This comic is sick, PKJ is killing the story, the art from Montoya is quietly the best art from DC imo, and every time this book drops it's just a very fun read. Even these more verbose issues keeps you engaged.

PKJ is cooking with fire in this series. Between his story telling (and trying to clean up some of the BS other writers did with John), and the epic art of Montos (LOVE the comic horror interpretations), this series is one of the best at DC currently. Right now if you like the Green Lanterns you are having a great time. Sadly due to sales I dont think this series will survive into the next DC phase of absolute power but I wish it did. I just love everything about the story. The lore and fights are great. It really feels like a battle field and I love John as a solider again leading troops and trying to survive.
