OMEN'S TELEPETHY GONE AWRY! Can Power Girl trust her suitor Axel? Only one person can tell her that answer for sure--her best friend Omen. But when Omen's telepathy is threatened by a chance encounter with a new hero, Paige must focus on saving her from herself--along with the rest of Metropolis!
I think the bones of this story will resonate with many people who feel isolated or alone even among friends. I know it did for me which made the last panel hit especially hard. I have no clue where things are headed, but this issue got my attention with very little action or super heroics. Read Full Review
There is a vulnerability to this issue that makes it stand out among previous entries, furthering the intrigue of both Paige's love life and the shared bond between her and her telepathically linked roomie. Read Full Review
It's an interesting plot that ties into the ongoing threat of Blue Earth that Phillip Kennedy Johnson set up, but the absence of all the other ongoing plots makes it a slightly odd read, especially with Peeg's face on the cover. Read Full Review
Power Girl is such a solid book that it can go entire issues without its titular hero and you don't mind one bit. Read Full Review
Omen #1...er, Power Girl #13 is such a bizarre issue. It's either written incredibly poorly and awkwardly, or it's really setting up something sinister with Omen. If it's the former, thenwe've experienced this beforeif it's the latter, well this may be the best issue of the series so far. As such this issue has to fall right in the middle. This is one of those instances that only through hindsight will we really be able to judge it. At the very least, it's interesting even if I'm reading it incorrectly and adding more than Williams intended to be there. Read Full Review
A great issue with some really good comedic beats. I loved the writing and the art was solid. The characters speak like real people would speak, which is always a breath of fresh air when reading comics. This issue was a lot of fun, in both the silly interactions among the characters and the action moments in the later part of the issue. Great stuff.
This series needs to be put out of its misery. How this survived going into DC All In is an absolute mystery to me. The writing is bad, the focus isn’t even on the titled character and most of the issue is spent with Omen doing nothing but texting, choosing a dress and then going to a ball where we then get a page or two of the only thing of consequence to happen in this issue.
The art is the only redeeming factor in this issue and it’s a shame it’s wasted on another Leah Williams pile of hot garbage.
I’m done with with this book now. I want it to be good but it’s just not and I would recommend anyone parting with money for this not to encourage what Leah Williams is serving up.
This is getting ridiculous.
Not even about Power Girl anymore.
