"ESCAPE FROM THE PHANTOM ZONE" part three! Supergirl must quell the maelstrom tearing apart the Phantom Zone, as Batgirl faces down the Phantom King one-on-one. If they fail, they'll be lost in the Phantom Zone forever!
Great ending making me want more right away! Perfect! So overall, the Xa-Du and Psi plots ended in ways I liked although perhaps a bit too quickly for my tastes. But all the added goodness around that pacing problem raised everything up. And if you ask me to write more I will tell you I only answer to morbid whimsy. Read Full Review
"Escape from the Phantom Zone" was a fun story. It is always fun to see Supergirl team up with Batgirl. This series has been delightful so far, and I love how it incorporates so much from Supergirl's past incarnations. Read Full Review
Another action-packed issue with Kara and Babs working together to get out of The Phantom Zone. And, on the same physical level because Kara doesnt have her powers. Ben is awesome too and a huge help to escaping as well. The story set-up for the next issue has me intrigued as to what changed while Supergirl was in The Phantom Zone. I wonder, just how long she was really there. Read Full Review
A wonderful conclusion to a fun, heartfelt, team up. Orlando does both these characters' justice and uses their wit and caring nature to help them in a tight spot. Ching does marvelously in shifting the tone in each panel to fit the setting. Orlando has more surprises and an even more dire plot in wait for us. Here's hoping to more team up between these women in the future! Read Full Review
Overall, Supergirl #11 ends what was a promising arc with a story that is passible as it fails to fulfill its potential. As with other recent issues though, the ending raises the stakes enough to keep you reading and searching for what you want this comic to become. Read Full Review
A good issue to wrap up the story, and definitely the best of the entire arc. Great action, and leaves us on a very interesting cliff-hanger. Read Full Review
The cliffhanger is at least intriguing, but there had better be a good explanation for that heel turn. Read Full Review
I am so glad that Supergirl has her own book, but fans deserve much better than this. Steve Orlando continues to just throw things at the wall to see what sticks and unfortunately, not much does. Poor dialogue and characterizations rule the day and even with Brian Ching's art being better than usual, I can't recommend this issue or series to anyone. Read Full Review
Everything turns out exactly how you would expect it to and Batgirl's presence in this story is never really warranted or justified. Maybe with some actual stakes this could have been a fun team-up adventure, but between some less-than-cohesive art and a story that lays on the plate like a cold hamburger patty with no buns and no condiments and no, well, anything, this just doesn't have much to offer.
