Swamp Thing #36 is another great issue of the series, with all the signs pointing towards Soule setting us up for one last hurrah in the final arc. The story and the characters are fantastic, along with the writing and the artwork. There's not much else that can be said other than check this series out if you haven't already. As the cover suggests, Soule also tackles the long-awaited reunion between Swamp Thing and Abigail Arcane. Here the issue takes on a new level of emotional resonance. Here are two lovers doomed by fate and circumstance to forever remain apart. Soule does a great job of capturing their emotional bond and the sadness that comes from their newfound distance. The blend of fantastical action and mystery with very grounded, human drama gives Swamp Thing its core appeal, and it's something Soule is so frequently able to tap into. Read Full Review

Swamp Thing #36 "THE MACHINE QUEEN," part 2 is an issue that throws us straight into the action while ending with a shocker we could not have seen coming. Even though I made fun of Swamp Thing's relationship with Abby, it served a purpose for us to see the emotions shared between those two as a contrast against the cold calculating machine intelligence.  Hopefully we can take from this that love will set us free in the end and our hero won't get his ass scorched from a robot with Terminator envy.  This is just another fun installment to Swamp Thing and I'm digging the ideas that Charles Soule is laying down here.  The story's great, the art is great, really you can't go wrong with picking up Swamp Thing and getting involved in The Green.  Go check it out and get your nature on. Swamp Thing #36is another solid entry in the series. Though not as tight and polished as recent issues such as last week's annual, Soule and Saiz each provide enough moments to make the issue entertaining. With tension building between the Machines and the other Kingdoms it will be intriguing to see just who ends up as friend and foe in the coming months. Read Full Review

Once again, the twists and turns of Charles Soule's storytelling have me wishing it was next month already so that I can find out what happens next. The anticipation of the next issue is always enormous, and very rarely if ever does this series disappoint. The artwork is phenomenal, the story moves along at a brisk pace that builds momentum before crashing into a cliffhanger that you'd never see coming.
