Scientists of the world unite! When Simon Stagg sabotages Mr. Terrific's latest world-changing invention, reinforcements are needed. Enter the Terrific Council: Blue Beetle! The Atom! Man-Bat! Shay Veritas! Dhalua Strong! (Just hum a theme song in your head, it'll be more exciting that way.) Looks like Michael Holt has been building a real path to progress behind the backs of his Terrific comrades-but the real question is, what else is he planning?
While I am very disappointed that The Terrifics #27 is the final print issue, I am quite glad that DC has gone to the lengths they have to support this gem of a title. I look forward to seeing how Yang will wrap up the series. Read Full Review
Yang also adds in another mystery that could have made for a lengthy new arc or recurring development. That will likely get paid off in the home stretch but Im already anticipating where this last arc will evolve and lamenting the fact that this terrific ride is almost over. Read Full Review
It's a classic Silver Age-inspired sci-fi adventure, and it'll be seriously missed when it's gone. Read Full Review
Overall, The Terrifics #27 nailed the intensity of this situation which Stagg created, and the introduction of the Terrific Council. When the dust settles from this, things are going to get very interesting in the following issue when there's no way to dodge the conversation this will stir up. Questions about secrets, matters of blame, issues with choices. Hopefully nothing is left off the table from that. Read Full Review
Sergio Davila offers some impressive visuals throughout this issue. The action is fantastic and all of the heroes are given some great visual moments either through their action or their interpersonal dialogue. Read Full Review
The Terrifics #27 is another good issue from Gene Luen Yang and Sergio Davila. While the plot felt a little rushed by the end, I enjoyed seeing the T-Council, and the cliffhanger sets up a very personal story as Yang ends the series. Read Full Review
The Terrifics has crafted a series that is unique and bizarre, but truly worth celebrating. Read Full Review
This is a solid issue of comics, with some fun interactions and an ending that feels like the final chapter. but thankfully isn't! Read Full Review
Prelude:
The first issue of this arc was good so let's see if that continues.
The Good:
I enjoyed the T-Council.
Some nice character development.
The Bad:
Silas is rather grating for me.
Conclusion:
It's a nice issue of the Terrifics. Nothing too much to rave on about though.
This is a mish mosh of a title that uses some of my favourite B grade DC characters. The problem is that they should not be used together because rarely does the sum of many B graders produce an A grade product. Still perplexed why there are two atoms on the cover... am I missing something or is it sloppy editing.
