Conrad and Cloonan have a lot of story to move through if theyre going to be able to wrap-up the Trial of the Amazons series in a satisfying way. Engaging all of the contestants to come together as a team right away moves things along quite well. Bellaires coming-of-age story is a pleasant, little moment at the. end. of the adventure. Wonder Woman #786 does a great job of reframing the nature of "The Trial and turns it into core Amazonian concepts. It suggests that these contestants, not combatants will come through "The Trial not only changed but closer and possibly bringing the three tribes of Amazons closer in the process. Wonder Woman #786 is the strongest issue in the Trial of the Amazons event in terms of moving the story forward and forgoing the endless conversations and meetings. Unfortunately, the dialog is clunky, the transitions between multiple artists severely reduce the art, and shockingly little is revealed about the Trials or the hidden Big Bad of the event. Wonder Woman #786 works well in progressing the overall plot of Trial of the Amazons. The story rapidly moves, especially compared to the previous two chapters. Though not every plot beat ends up working as the threats presented are extremely underdeveloped. The artwork also isn't as strong as the previous chapters as the switches between artists isn't as smooth as it needed to be. That all makes this a mix bag of a chapter for Trial of the Amazons.
