The Wonder War has the high stakes drama and little verbal knife twists that drive a book into your brain and make you think about for days after you finish reading it. It makes you go back and re-read the previous issues to see if there were more hints you missed. Mar 20, 2026I was hoping Tom King had a big story to tell here, but the lack of any real setup makes everything fall flat. It felt more like a lecture than a story, and while the art was great, there wasn't much for Daniel Sampere to do. The biggest sin, though, is that the issue was kinda boring. I didn't care about what was going on, which made the whole thing feel boring and inconsequential throughout. The first shots have been fired in the Wonder War, but I just keep wondering why Tom King is still writing Diana. Her fans deserve better! Read Full Review

Can't wait to see this unfold. Loved to see more of Trinity with Damien and Jon. Their friendship has been beautifully weaved through his run. Trinity is a kind and compassionate character, deeply affected by the loss of her father. She isn't some bitchy girl boss, she is a genuine force of good. We learn that the Matriarch has a deep history with Diana, adding depth to their eventual battle. It also makes her sympathetic, they are depicted as close sisters - but what went wrong? Key characters are sacrificed for the ultimate goal of saving the world from the Matriarch. The Green Lantern ring was a clever bait and switch. She obviously has a Green Lantern ring but fashioned a kryptonite ring in the GL style to trick Jon. A genius villain m more

What can be said about this issue. I’ll start with the most basic. Tom king sets up nothing. Tom Writes what he may think is a big story arc but like most of his work It falls flat from the bad out of character work. You get 1 panel of WW in the book. The storytelling is just abysmal. The characters? Wooden. Often feeling like they are reading scripts or cosplaying as the actual characters. Much of this book is boring, Diana fans deserve better than this. Trinity is insufferable and the King change from a GL ring to it being kryptonite only highlights his screw up with the GL rules, so he changes it. It now makes the fact that the matriarch shot energy from a kryptonite ring all the more dumb. I really do not think Tom King is a bad writ more
