Maybe I have been too hard on this book, on Levitz and his characterization, on the lack of progression on the book, on the rough art that has been on the pages for a while. Maybe it is because I love the characters so much I wanted so much more. But I don't think I will miss this book once it isn't on my pull list. With at least the next several issues taking place on their hellish homeworld which has fallen to Apokolips and an evil Superman, Worlds' Finest #25 plays to the series strengths by centering the storyline on the friendship and interaction of our two heroines. The issue works well and even an appearance of the New 52 version of Desaad (adding a bit of action to the proceedings) can't ruin what works as a bittersweet portend that perhaps the series' best issues may now have already been told. I'll miss that Helena and Kara will no longer be the Worlds' Finest team. I'm excited for their conclusion in the Earth 2 book, but thought it was a great idea that DC had a powerful book starring two kick ass women. Every month that I read an issue of Worlds' Finest I'm surprised that their doesn't seem to be any meat to the book at all.  It has the strange ability to begin and end without anything really happening in the middle and I hope with the upcoming change to the book that we'll finally have something for these two to show some real superheroics instead of fumbling around and seeming to just simply go through the motions.  Even after all my bitching the book isn't that bad except for the constant over sexualizing of the characters that has run rampant from the titles start.  We have the excellent artwork of Tyler Kirkham and I hope he stays on for awhile because I just love looking at characters through his pencils.  I can't say that I recommend this book, but it is a farewell to the status quo of Worlds' Finest and for that it may be the best issue yet. Improved artwork and great character design are held back by a meandering story and shallow heroes. Things look like they will spiral towards heavy action, as the issue's conclusion gives readers a taste of just how bad the situation on Earth 2 is. Read Full Review
