Meanwhile, Master Yoda, Master Baro, and a group of Padawans are racing towards the disaster for a daring rescue mission.
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #1 is an exciting debut issue that stokes the nostalgia from the first six movies of the franchise. The story by Daniel Jose Older is grand and exciting. The art by Harvey Tolibao is gorgeous. Altogether, a story that pushes the narrative on the Star Wars Universe, giving way to more ways to explore. Read Full Review

The High Republic has completely sucked me into this new era of Star Wars and Adventures provides another excellent entry to the saga. Faced paced, adrenaline pumping action with an interesting group of young Jedi under the mentorship of Yoda, what more could you want? I found the suitable for all ages branding to be right on the money as it's not too childish to discourage older readers and not too graphic to scare the younger readers. Read Full Review
This is the High Republic series aimed at younger readers, and it does a great job of setting itself apart for that audience while still maintaining the stakes and scope of the overall High Republic franchise. Read Full Review
The issue ends on a cliffhanger, with the two parallel stories colliding. Zeen and the Jedi are both surrounded by the Nihil, and their leader... Marchion Ro! Ro appeared in Light of the Jedi too, and in that novel he instantly became the newest iconic Star Wars villain. And here, in comic aimed towards kids, he's making his second appearance! This is why I love this issue. It's still at it's heart a comic book aimed towards kids, but it still feels significant and important, which is something I couldn't say about the mainline Star Wars Adventures series. Beyond the awesome story, the art was also really good; again, it was much better than the art typically seen in the Adventures series, and I hope that's kept up. I can't wait for the next issue! Wow, this was much better than I expected. The Marvel one was a HUGE disappointment (those people need to go back to the drawing board, lol)
I'll be getting the 2nd issue and following this book instead. The storyline, character introduction, and flow was excellent. Bravo.
Did not have too high expectations on this but it was a really good Star Wars story. Plus it’s the first cameo appearance of Marchion Ro.
Nice solid introductory story with some pretty high grade art. Definitely several steps above what I expected from the Adventures take on High Republic in both story and art.
