MINISERIES PREMIERE
The comics event of the summer is here!
Okay, this is so top secret we can't even show you the main cover because it spoils something MASSIVE. Just trust us when we say that this is going to be the comic book event of 2023-and it's NOT what you're expecting.
Does the crossover really go that wide? Yes, it does. BIG GAME pulls together KICK-ASS, KINGSMAN, NEMESIS, THE MAGIC ORDER, and ALL the Millarworld franchises in one special event. This must be ordered like CRAZY!
BIG GAME #1 bills itself as the crossover event of the Summer, and that it is. The issue is filled with dense references to oodles of Millarworld characters and titles to make Millar fans happy but accessible enough to be an exciting read for new readers. Top it all off with Pepe Larrazs stellar art, and this crossover is a winner. Read Full Review
Larraz delivers amazing art in the issue. The visuals are great and I love the beautifully detailed action throughout the story. Read Full Review
So I'd say this is accessible to you if it has been a while since you have read anything from the Millarverse. Read Full Review
Having thought they'd rid the universe of superheroes decades ago, The Fraternity are back to finish the job in ‘Big Game' #1. A bloody, brutal but beautiful looking comic that aims to be as big and bold as ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths' or ‘Secret Wars', but with more swearing and violence. A good, solid first issue. So this is a great opening issue. Putting a lot of pieces in place, but great to see how the initial players are setting up and what this type of story is going to be. As Millar himself said, this is 20 years of stories in the making, so this is going to be big.
Art is amazing. Loved every panel. First issue is essentially a hype issue and it does just that.
Now that being said, if you dont like Millars writing, both the heroes and the villains this isnt the type of book for you. (This should be obvious if you dont like his books, dont read a book series pulling them all together but I guess I need to state that).
This is a realy good opening issue and it looks stunning. Pepe Larraz's art is excellent. I haven't read all the Millar series that this event will include, but I still enjoyed the story very much. It left me wanting to read the next issue asap but I'll have to wait until August. It has also made me want to read Millar's Starlight, Prodigy, and of course Wanted.
I like some Mark Millar books and dislike others. It's a mixed bag. Trying to wrap my head around who the characters are since I didn't read all the series and definitely didn't like Nemesis. Still early but looks like it's a straight forward Good vs Bad so far. Pepe Larraz can illustrate the phone book and it'll look fantastic so I'm all about the art.
This is interesting so far, but this issue feels like it's just setting up the pieces on a chessboard. Of course, that is a requirement for a good story, but I'm going to reserve my opinion of the how good the story is until I see it laid out. It seems like a straight supervillains vs. superheroes story right now. I hope this is not what it is, as that's just too generic for all these characters.

I never read Nemesis. I'm not fond of a dark univers.
So this comics wasn't for me at all.
