The world is changing-and Destro means to come out on top! But with Cobra Commander breathing down his neck and mercenaries Xamot and Tomax seeking to dethrone him as the world's premier weapons manufacturer, he'll have to survive the future in order to build it.
Destro #2 provided a stronger glimpse of what the creative team can do with these characters and this inspired scenario. Theres a solid cliffhanger thats going to make the wait for next issue a long one. Read Full Review

A battle floods over from the board room to the battlefield with this latest Energon Universe chapter. Watters lines up the major pieces for a combustible situation with the writing. Bressan, Lucas and Wooten deliver on action with many moving parts still rolling. Where this goes from here will be a victory for readers never the less. Read Full Review
In the war we see play out of Destro vs Xamot and Tomax there are no sides to be on. And that is where the magic of Destro #2 is shown. This comic book unapologetically nails what would happen when two villain groups fight it out in all out war. The results create even greater interest in what is going on in the GI JOE side of the Energon Universe. Read Full Review
The Energon Universe thats being explored in a number of different titles seems like a next natural step for the tow big Hasbro franchises in the comics. The challenge is going to lie in keeping everything dynamic without getting it to sprawl hopelessly out of control. There are a great many different characters in both G.I. Joe and The Transformers that could drag the momentum conisderably. For now, everything feels perfectly well-executed in another enjoyable walk with a notable villain. Read Full Review
The action sequences that play out from their reprisals offer some excitement but struggle to match the bar established in other Energon-related series as hardly differentiated robots and masked men are decimated. Read Full Review
The creative team deserves a round of applause for delivering another non-stop, action-packed thrill ride that never takes its foot off the gas pedal. Following the events from the debut issue’s final pages, Dan Watters crafts a delicate dance between Destro/M.A.R.S. and the Crimson Twins/Extensive Enterprises, ramping up the tension from a war of propaganda to an all-out paramilitary confrontation.
Watters' writing shines as he seamlessly shifts between these two adversarial factions, showcasing the depths they'll plunge to gain the upper hand. His script is a perfect reflection of the high-stakes world of G.I. Joe, where loyalty, power, and deception are constantly at play.
Art by Andrei Bressan and Adriano Lucas more
Can I just start off saying that I love the cover art? The mech-warriors are great looking. Lucas does a great job drawing them (and later in the issue).
If you are seeking action, this issue will give you some. Mostly at the start. However, if you are seeking a strategic, tit-for-tat, precision strike business battle, then this is for you. Destro vs Xamot and Tomax is great. It is enjoyable to see their characters unfold.
Also can I say the Destro is just a megalomaniac and I am all here for it. Love the way he is drawn (almost goofy comical evil villain but it feels like it fits).
I would say this issue is better than the first and that is a nice thing to see.
While this seems to lack something Cobra Commander and Duke had it's still pretty good. I've given up on Scarlett completely, but that I'd say we can afford to pass on as it's the weakest G.I. Joe series in a long time (But then what would one expect from a series written by Kelly Thompson?). But unlike it Destro's story is an essential part in this series of preludes to the upcoming G.I. Joe which I can say judging by the hype I hear, will be a big deal. It's also something I'm looking forward to. It's the first series outside the original continuity I've enjoyed in 20 years now.
As you read this and see Destro and The Crimson Twins preparing to go to war with each other, you can just tell that Cobra Commander is watching every second more
The art is this book is nothing to write home about, but the action is good. I like the wanton destruction this little war is creating. I'm still waiting to see who caused it since both deny they had anything with the initial drone attack. The zombie BAT battle was great. I just wish there was a different artist on this book.
