Suze and Jon meet Ana. Or rather, meet Ana AGAIN. Or should we say, meet...Ms. Jazmine St. Cocaine AGAIN. Did we just put those words in that order in PREVIEWS? Yes. Yes we did. By MATT FRACTION (SEX CRIMINALS) and CHONNY ZDARKO (SEX CRIMINALS).

Nerds On The Rocks - Dan Crotty Dec 19, 2014

I'm little but the non-conformist is HUGE) almost wants to be annoyed at the popularity of this title but damn if I'm not charmed every book. I was worried the series would lose steam after we finished the bank robbery plot, but Matt and Chip keep widening this world. Now we're looking at the possibility of adding to this motley crew of degenerates, maybe even a team (The Sex-vengers? The Sex-Men? The Just-Sex League?). I'm definitely excited for the next issue. Doom Rocket - Jarrod Jones Dec 15, 2014

And even though the book's fictional porno " Fraction and Zdarsky take a poke at The Wicked + The Divine ("The Lick-Ed and the Divine", har) " is just lurid enough to feel like some crazy, borderline gross slashfic (actors depict Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's Lucifer and the legally underage Amaterasu sharing carnal relations with an impressively mounted strap-on), the creators keep Rae Anne's engrossing backstory at the forefront of the story's unapologetic sexual bonanza. There are only three months to wait and see how Dr. Kincaid will fit in with Jon and Suzie's crazy underverse. With a book this good, that wait is just gonna feel like forever. Read Full Review

Coming Up Comics - Timothy Merritt Dec 9, 2014

Sex Criminals is good. Really good. It won, like, all the awards this year for comics (shut up, Saga), and you know that when you buy this issue you're going to get another art-piece that continues that critically-acclaimed narrative of high-brow smut and self-referential dick jokes. Eisner award-winning dick jokes. Read Full Review

    Nerds Unchained - MagenCubed Dec 11, 2014

As ever Zdarskys rendering of her scenes is both humorous and heartfelt, and employs some meaningful imagery throughout. The appearance of Gillen as the director of Anas first porn is an amusing touch, as is the eight-panel splash of Anas career portfolio, true to the titles irreverent, tongue-in-cheek tone. He also manages to make Anas treks the Quiet/Cumworld specific and unique to her story, despite the recycled color and texture overlays that serve as visual shorthand, distancing her from Jon and Suzies shared experiences. Comic Book Resources - Greg McElhatton Dec 10, 2014

"Sex Criminals" #9, like the issues before it, succeeds because of how much you find yourself caring about the characters. Well, that and the great, larger-than-life concepts that frame the situations that they're in. Any single element of "Sex Criminals" would make an entertaining comic. Combined together? It's golden. It's easy to see why "Sex Criminals" is such a runaway hit: it's because it's just so amazingly good. Read Full Review

Geeked Out Nation - Jess Camacho Dec 10, 2014

Fraction and Zdarsky cement why “Sex Criminals” is so praised with this month's issue. The story is gaining steam quickly and they are able to balance that with the humor and sex. It's an almost perfect issue that should be used to explain why fans go crazy for it. Read Full Review

    IGN - Jeff Lake Dec 11, 2014

Not one to play second fiddle (that's not a euphemism) , Zdarsky too ups his game here. The artist understandably gets a lot of attention for his hilarious prop play and general gift for absurdity, but it's his smaller, more emotionally revealing moments that stand out here. He uses expression and shadow to great effect, ably capturing the smallest flicker of mood change from scene to scene. Considering the book's increasingly mature content, such nuance remains as important as ever to the book's overall appeal. Read Full Review

The Latest Pull - Nicholas Turner Dec 10, 2014

It's the penultimate issue in this arc and it all seems to building up to… something, but I know I'm excited. This is a comic which can be a lot more gratifying being read together. Unless you're an avid fan who eagerly awaits each issue, it is probably worth waiting for the next break in the story to really delve into this second arc of Sex Criminals. Read Full Review

Infinite Comix - Adam Whitmer Dec 12, 2014

With only one more issue in this volume to go, the next issue better be a barnburner. So far Volume 2 has been much like the second season of a television show. The rules are set up and the story begins, and while the story has moved forward a bit the characters themselves haven't. With Ana and Robert Rainbow, at least there are more people to drive the story forward and the possibilities are endless now that Jon and Suzie are trying to put together a team of those who can reach The Quiet. A professor of Horology should give them a good start in their war against the Sex Police. In this war the possibilities are endless and if anyone can pull it off it's Fraction and Zdarsky.
