That Texas Blood #2 is a solid start to a story arc for this series. It also gives the reader more of a “footing” of what this series is going to be about. It gives us a little clearer understanding of what we are in for. There is a nice tension and mystery built up throughout the pages in this second issue. Those looking for a new crime book or a murder mystery with a bit of a twist to it, I would definitely recommend picking up That Texas Blood #2. Read Full Review
No matter how fun the gritty prose is and how well-realized this smalltown remains, it requires a story to make those elements worth investing in and hopefully issue #3 will finally arrive at a story only hinted at in these pages. Read Full Review
BEAUTIFUL art!! Story is so far simple, but it has a promising start. Can not wait for more.
This would be a near perfect issue (even better than last month's issue) if Condon would just avoid falling into some word traps. He uses the word "well" very frequently, and while some might fight endearing, it becomes annoying very quickly. I eventually just started skipping the word halfway through the book just so I didn't have to keep reading it. Other than that the story was very tight, and i loved the narration bits. There's a genuine tension and anxiety to the town that Condon and Sean are bringing and I love it. Good issue, but just please get rid of the freaking "well" every gd sentence.
