Comic Crusaders - C.V.R. The Bard
Dec 14, 2021All the characters are important, even as new one's are introduced. The settings are all familiar yet twisted. With only two issues complete , "Whats The Furthest Place From Here", the is already a triumph in the graphic genre on the way to becoming a solidfied cult-classic. Now if that isn't enough to get this book to fly off the shelves, the added on 7" singles packaged with the paperback should be enough of an incentive to light a fire in the memorbillia collector in all consumers to consider checking this out. Anything can happen in this story of rival gangs, a missing girl, and the mysterious figures who make the rules. It's not often when you open a comic and don't know where it's headed. Continues the momentum, world building, and characterization of the first issue very well.
WHAT'S THE FURTHEST PLACE FROM HERE?'s greatest strengths lie in it's ability to use shorthand for it's world's social contract. It doesn't bug us with useless exposition or unnecessary details we've heard a million times before at this point. Almost like a video game, Rosenberg and team tell their story through character moments, artwork, and dialogue.
The whole thing is a vibe. -

Before anything, I must say that the chapter breaks are certainly an interesting move. I like them now, but I’m not sure how much I’ll like them as the series progresses. Anyways, I really liked this, again. The world-building continues to be super interesting and I’m definitely looking forward to more. Really fun characters here, also. Very much enjoying the tone of this book.
