I'm not sure where things are going to go from here, but I can't wait to find out! What are all those Groots for? How are they keeping Baby Groot from re-growing? Will the Guardians make it away from the Collector alive? What does the Grandmaster have going on with Gamora, and why is she hiding it? I have no doubt that Duggan will answer all our questions in subsequent issues, but for now, you've got to check out this issue. All-New Guardians of the Galaxy is doing a great job of keeping us entertained and interested, and I'm pumped to see what's next! Read Full Review
All-New Guardians of the Galaxy continues to be such a great fun read. There are a lot of elements in the series that obviously are inspired by the movie but it completely works. This is a must read series for any Guardian fans and for those that just want to laugh and have a good time. Read Full Review
All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #2 delivered on the fun that fans come to expect from the franchise. Gerry Duggan and Aaron Kuder are clearly having fun writing and drawing, respectively, the ongoing adventures of the Guardians of the Galaxy and it shows throughout this second issue. With how serious things are with the rest of the Marvel Universe, it is refreshing to have a comic book that is all about fun like All-New Guardians of the Galaxy to look forward to now. Gerry Duggan, Aaron Kuder, and Ive Svorcina are a great team. Duggan's dialogue is quick and funny, Kuder's lines are sharp and detailed, and his fight scenes are easy to follow. But Svorcina's colors are my favorite part of the book. They come to life in this space story, and not once do they become dull or muddled. That is the real draw to this comic, and worth the price of admission. Seldom do I see colors (and lines) are beautiful as these in modern comics, but All-New Guardians Of The Galaxy #2 has it! You can tell that the Bendis era is over when we've gone from a Guardians of the Galaxy comic that barely resembled the movie Guardians to a comic that resembles them a little bit too closely. Read Full Review
Man, issue 2 is even better than the first. Duggan brings the action and the humor and the intrigue. Kuder draws his butt off here. Amazing book to look at.
This is light, inconsequential, and a whole lot of fun. And Aaron Kuder's art is great. The cosmic adventures of the all-new guardians are worth following.
Solid, fun issue. An improvement on the first in my opinion
Kuder's art is weird, but it is absolutely perfect for this series. It's SUPPOSED to be weird. You put him on a more down to earth title (pun intended), and I'd probably have an issue with it. But this is cosmic Marvel he's working with. Let's get weird.
Duggan's writing is fun and comedic as ever. Great fit for this title.
The Guardians' heist from the Collector's Fortress o' Pop Culture goes predictably awry. Gerry Duggan is working hard to script two issues' worth of quality characterization and dialogue every month. He's doing good with that, but he doesn't seem to have the time to get really creative with his plot. Similarly, Aaron Kuder is drawing stunningly good, inventively weird stuff - 40 pages' worth in a month. So it's fair if he goes a little heavy on the splash pages to keep his panel count down. I'm still waiting for the creators to start answering some of the great questions they posed last month. A reheated Hollywood heist story is only gonna satisfy for so long.
