The Parker family is web-slinging and wall-crawling their way into your hearts and into comic shops later this year! Life is good for Peter Parker and Mary Jane; their daughter Annie is their pride and joy, they're both working and (barely) making ends meet, they're keeping the streets of New York City safe from super villains...you know, normal family stuff. Oh, did we mention MJ and Annie have Spider-Powers -- just like Peter?! Being Spider-Man just became a family affair...

Marvel's killing me with the $4.99 first issue price, but I'm glad I shelled out the moolah for this one, because it's just great. Superbly written and drawn and featuring beloved characters that have been allowed to mature and change, The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows is a real treat, even if the title is super-clunky. Dr. Josh gives this an". Read Full Review
This comic has it all, and though it costs $4.99, It's one of those books you'll want to keep and go back to. Read Full Review
Pick this up! Another great story which shows the power and malleability of superhero comics. I loved this issue. The short stories at the end are worth a full rating just for their sheer adorably nature. Read Full Review
While many might view entertainment as a form of escapism, it's also a matter of relationships - both the relationships inside of the story, as well as the bonds formed between the characters and the readers themselves. Peter Parker is the kind of character that's easy to root for because he's easy to love, and watching this hard-luck hero get to make good on his personal life is something that inspires hope in all the imperfect Spider-Man readers in the world. If Conway and Stegman can continue their rock-solid work, Renew Your Vows is going to be an easy commitment for Spider-fans everywhere. Read Full Review
If the current incarnation of Amazing Spider-Man isn't floating your boat, maybe Renew Your Vows can do the trick. This new series boasts a terrific creative team exploring a more classically oriented Spider-Man status quo. Luckily, the series doesn't just coast by on nostalgia, as the fact that Peter is now a loving husband and father adds crucial new layers to his story. Read Full Review
Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales, Web Warriors and Spider-Man 2099 have all demonstrated the power of the Spider-Man brand. Tweaked just a bit and shifted from another Earth, timeline, or dimension, those Spider-variants have been fan favorite, and I have no doubt this title can find its way there as well. Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1 is a wonderful introduction to a new world that answers some questions, discards other questions, and turns it around on the reader, asking, “Are you ready to have some fun?” If you answer, “Yes!” then get out your webshooters and start slingin'. Gerry Conway and Ryan Stegman's debut issue for Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows offers a fresh kind of story for the Marvel Universe, one about family, togetherness, and growing up. Conway's dialogue is true-to-life and Stegman's lines are phenomenal. Read Full Review
Spider-Man and Mary Jane living the married life is something a lot of Spidey fans have been clamoring for and Conway, Stegman, and the rest of the team involved don't disappoint. Despite an odd choice for the villain the group will combat in coming issues I look forward to continuing to follow this story because of what my favorite character now has in common with myself … a normal life. All that said, Conway does do a great job establishing a strong dynamic among the Parkers, both as a family and a force for good. We also get the appearance of two classic villains, which ups the nostalgia factor (in a good way) to an already old school-feeling issue. Add in Stegman's aforementioned gorgeous artwork (including the chance to see him draw a dinosaur attacking New York), and this one's still worth picking up. Let's just hope things start to ramp up now that all the familial cards are on the table. Read Full Review
The book reads like an old school Spider-Man comic, but artist Ryan Stegman makes everything look very contemporary. The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows combines the old with the new to create a very pleasant and comforting reading experience for old school fans. I think Conway is going to have to do some story gymnastics to bring people up to speed on the alternate timeline this book takes place in, but for now, if you greatly miss Peter and MJ being a married couple, the marriage is back and Mephisto be damned. HOOKED!!
I love this comic and everything it's about. I love the family dynamic and to me this book draws heavy comparison to DC Rebirth Superman, which also based on family dynamics is fantastic. Like Jon, Annie is struggling with her newfound powers. And also both MJ and Lois are headstrong mothers who are able to aid their husbands in many ways and sometimes even steal the spotlight. I like this Spider-Man more than earth 616's.
Yesssssss. This is the Spider-Man (Family) book I want!
Also a $5 book that is actually worth it for once. 2 cute and funny bonus stories at the end.
This was great! I felt like I was missing some information, but I'm not a regular Spider-Man reader. I loved the back ups and I'll be picking up the next issue.
Great first issue...it's nice to see that Peter/Mary Jane relationship again, and Stegman's art is sweet. I liked Spidey trying to remember his grocery list mid-battle. A lot of fun. I'll be back for more.
It felt safe for me. I love the art and i liked the story. It's the beginning so we'll see what happens.
