ASGARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #3 isn't for everyone. Actually, I don't think it's probably for most people. Bunn is really struggling to give the series an identity beyond INFINITY WARS and the MCU. With Angela on the cover, you might assume she's going to have a starring role, yet Bunn refuses to give her much characterization beyond a few lines. Nebula and Kid Loki's roles are a little too strong and the pacing is noticeably off. The art in the issue is really it's most redeeming quality (and it is pretty breathtaking). Read Full Review
There's still some good stuff here, but it feels a bit cluttered by other less interesting elements. Read Full Review
This is lots of fun!
I like this a lot because it's pulling from a bunch of different stories that I've read and creating something interesting with those threads.
I’d like to see Angela fleshed out more but the art is fantastic and it has Throg.
This was good! Throg is the best one by far.
The art is pretty bad but this series is great because the team has a singular mission and that keeps the series focused. For a team book, though, Asgardians of the Galaxy seems much more focused on Valkyrie than any other character (Cullen Bunn wrote Valkyrie before in Fearless Defenders). Bunny has great respect for continuity as it combines elements of Fearless Defenders, Jeff Lemire’s Thanos, and Infinity Wars while it is sure to lead into War of the Realms in the future. But don’t let this intimidate you because I haven’t read Fearless Defenders or Infinity Wars yet I understand perfectly fine. The art holds this series back and it occasionally relies on past comics too much, but all in all a pretty good series and issue
It's okay. Some exposition, action, connections, recruitments, reveals, last page surprises.
An incredible chore to read and I was *throg*ly bored by it.
