ASTONISHING X-MEN #16 is a seriously funny book thanks to Rosenberg's stellar writing. It continues to be a fun series, and a standout in a sea of X-Books. Frank D'Armata's colors steal the show this issue! Your mileage may vary when it comes to enjoyment of this issue, though, because the tone is so light. If you want to read a heavier X-Men series, look elsewhere. Read Full Review
Non stop action and humor highlight another great issue of the Rosenberg and Land run. The book is fun while never loving the quintessential 'X-Men' tone. Read Full Review
In this issue we still have questionable leadership decisions, others making fun of those decisions, and even a Havok/Cyclops comparison which I think is a per-issue requirement. The overall assessment of Havok's leadership abilities thus far seems to be a large failure. Read Full Review
Astonishing X-Men #16 combines great characterization with some fun action, and thoroughly entertains. It has a few problems, but not enough to sink the book. Rosenbergs handling of Havok is a highlight, and theres enough little twists and surprises in this one to keep readers invested. The art could be better and the villains could be more filled out, but that doesnt detract very much from how enjoyable this issue is. Read Full Review
The banter between the X-Men and the Reavers remains a strong point in Rosenberg's script, especially certain characters finally calling out Beast on his tendency to end up on the wrong side of nearly every conflict for the past several years. Read Full Review
To conclude, this was a good issue of Astonishing X-Men and definitely set us up with one heck of a cliffhanger. There is a promise of an epic battle and an opportunity for closure. I can not wait for the next issue. Read Full Review

THE GOOD:
-Outstanding art. I've never really been a huge Greg Land fan, but this story arc made me see why many people are. His art works excellently for both this series and the characters.
-Also a very funny issue. Matthew Rosenberg has salvaged this series in every way possible.
-Very compelling characters. Havok and Beast, stand out as the most well-written, but Colossus is easily the best character in the story.
-The Fastball Special scene had me going for while.
THE BAD:
-Wasn't a fan of the end. A poor capper to an otherwise great issue.
Not as impressed with this issue as I usually am with this series.
Art was ok. Besdies a few lines of the dialogue, most of the dialogue is meh. A story that started out great and now just waiting til next story arc
This was a bit messy, but some good dialogue.
