JM DeMatteis was the ASM writer during the Clone Saga but he also did a (rightfully called) Spectacular Spider-Man run with Sal Buscema in the 90s. If it ever comes to print in full, I highly recommend checking it out.
THE PAST KILLS!
• Ben Reilly has finally come face-to-face with the true villain behind his torment - and you're not going to believe who it is!
• Watch as a failure from Ben and Peter's past comes to haunt the life of SPIDER-MAN!

A hell of an issue! This is the kind of book that gets your heart beating faster and makes you forget to breathe when you're reading it. Some great payoff, and some great action in this book, highest recommendation possible! Read Full Review
David Baldeon blows me away with the imagery in this issue. There are so many visually impressive and thrilling moments in the issue and the style of the art perfectly fits the tone, pace and action of the plot. Read Full Review
The comic has done an adequate job of examining Ben Reilly's deepest fears and insecurities, and the presence of Spidercide only compounds those thoughts rattling around in his head. Read Full Review
Intro: At this point, don't even be surprised that I give this issue a 10 and if I give it another 10 for the next, final issue.
Plot/Setting: Spidercide is back! And he is NOT happy with Ben! As the two of them wrestle it out in the opening pages, we see the motivations behind Spidercide's actions throughout the story thus far, including the answer to the "First Date Murders" that's been happening in the background. The ending of this issue is looking for Ben's toughest challenge yet in the story as we brace for the conclusion to "The Humanity Agenda."
Writing: Same ol' fantastic writing, plotting, and scrpting from J.M. DeMatteis
Artwork: Same great art from the same great art team!

This is just so good. I didn't think DeMatteis could make Spidercide so interesting.
And hey, the name of this storyline finally makes some sense, eh?
Great issue. I really like the pathos here, which is what JM DeMatteis excels at.
Best Spider-man book out right now. Wish The writer was the main ASM writer. Without feeling too compressed , I get a substantial amount of story with 1 issue. Please keep this going
This just isn't clicking with me, don't see whats so special about this story
I don't want to pretend its amazing because it has an amazing writer
Not much actually happened here
