THE FINAL ISSUE OF TA-NEHISI COATES' LANDMARK RUN! It's the end of an era for the Black Panther as renowned writer Ta-Nehisi Coates concludes his Wakandan epic! Over four years, Coates has taken the Black Panther to hell and back and expanded Wakanda into the distant stars. Now, in his final issue, he brings T'Challa full circle, back to the home he left behind... and the crown he has never fully accepted. This is the story of a king who sought to be a hero, a hero who was reduced to a slave, a slave who advanced into legend...and the man who has struggled to hold up an empire in his bare hands. The journey will conclude, but the legend remaimore
An impressive ending to Coates' run, setting up a wild new status quo for Wakanda, one that I hope doesn't get immediately unraveled by the next writer. Either way, it's a lovely ending for a lovely ride. Read Full Review

by far one of the best things coates ever wrote. he turned wakanda upside down to throw it out across the galaxy. best comics of 2020
"I--S--See them. But they are not calling me home. They are calling for your head."

The good guys win, Bast is helpful in an infuriating way, and T'Challa ends up as a space-emperor. This finale has some solid storytelling touches, particularly in the art, but I'd contend nobody is going to remember any of the particulars in a year's time.
I like the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda as much now as when I first heard of it, though. It's an inherently appealing premise/setting. Now I hope Marvel does the right thing with it: Stick it on a high shelf until somebody has a really slapping cosmic story to tell with it. (And of course, I'm implying that Mr. Coates's interminable origin saga didn't really fit that bill.)
This was OK but a disappointment after going through the whole intergalactic empire of Wakanda stuff for so long. The end was just very unfinished. Maybe the crazy delay was part of the problem but to me it just feels unfinished and so much left on the table. Also how are the only heroes showing up from North America/world only black so what? The other heroes won't save Wakanda or is T'challa stupid enough to only reach out to black heroes. This is a stupid plot point but just takes me out of it. I get we are trying to get a black power moment here but give your allies a place at the table because the Avengers and the X-men can help so why not have them there too??. I mean the Black Panther is the leader of the Avengers so WTF?? Can he notmore
Well, I’m not sad to see it go. The art was nice but this draaaaaagged.
The middle to end was borderline incomprehensible.
I'm sure this would've hit different in 2020.
