Captain America Anniversary Tribute #1 is a lovely homage, combining the past and the present. This is a celebration of not just Captain America, but also of art and the creators that have impacted the characters history. This is the comic book version of a jam session... There are over 50 creators involved, and each is of a superb caliber. This is a very touching and clever idea that beautifully captures the soul of a comic book character, one that became one of the most important of them all. Read Full Review
Seeing these classic stories brought to life again makes them feel like remasters or remakes of sorts and allows people to experience them in a way they otherwise may have never been able to. Read Full Review
So, something of an oddity, but in a good way. Almost like a Marvel Try-Out book for professionals. Take these scripts by Joe Simon and Stan Lee and see what you can do. Well, they can do pretty good it seems. This could be a whole new thing, dusting down classic stories and getting contemporary artists to reinterpret them for modern audiences. It certainly gets them back out there, which I certainly applaud. A good story is a good story, regardless of age, and it's always nice to see where the characters we know and love came from. As good today as they ever were. Read Full Review

The amount of artists on this anniversary issue is impressive. Unfortunatley, it turned out to be less than the sum of its parts. There just wasn't any wow factor to this oversize issue, and if you have read these three stories before (which are 100% classics), you may find yourself bored before the end. However, if you haven't read them yet, this might be a good time to jump in, but I'd probably stick to the original classics. Read Full Review
this was a nice issue that retold the original stories, but had modern artists for the current generation. If you want to know more about Earth 616/Comic Captain America's origin and not MCU, this is the one for you
It is a nice tribute and a collage of great artists giving these classic stories life again!
The writing is super antiquated but the tribute artists are mostly good. There's not much to say about these tribute issues. It gives people a chance to read these very old stories, and that's nice.
It's the same gag as the redrawn Giant-Size X-Men #1 from last year, letting a different artist draw every page of some classic strips. The mix of Gold and Silver-Age stories is interesting, and once again the artist roster serves as a "who's who" of contemporary Marvel. But as with the previous effort, the main draw is catching peeks of the folks who don't actually draw many Marvel interiors anymore: Marguerite Sauvage, Alex Ross, InHyuk Lee, Adam Hughes, the Dodsons, etc.
Not as good as the X-men Giant Size one.
Not a big fan of this kind of writing. Some of the art was nice but not enough to make me enjoy reading it.
