Jul 21, 2020I liked this issue for its ability to use lesser-utilized heroes and how it creates a sense of total chaos with the war on Earth starting. I'm still waiting for motivations to become more apparent on the bad guy side, but it's still early yet. Read Full Review

Jul 29, 2020So if you want to see just what Shanna does with a huge Man-Thing while a shocked Ka-Zar looks on, come back next issue. I sure will. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Charles Hartford
Jul 22, 2020Empyre: The Avengers #1 is a solid start to its piece of a larger storyline. While it suffers from being a bit too busy, it delivers a collection of Earths heroes doing what they do best. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - clayhinojosa10
Jul 22, 2020The Kree & Skrulls have united to defeat a common enemy, the Cotati. As they wage war on planet Earth, it is apparent that casualties of war, human or otherwise, are non-important to the Kree or Skrull. Thus Earth's Mightiest Heroes are here, to do less than nothing in what Marvel is calling their Phase One of this ridiculously long event. Read Full Review

This was fun. The dialogue could've been better but the pacing was quick enough to move us through the issue without many problems.

The Agents of Wakanda and some under-utilized classic Avengers split up to whomp on plant-baddies around the world. It's all just standard issue event combat, but intricate art and snappy conversation keep it interesting. Also, some of the big-picture plot details are very helpful in making sense of the wider event.

For somebody who doesn't really read tie-ins, I liked this. A good tie-in. First off, I like the dialogue during the actions scenes of our squads and interactions between Avengers. Not familiar with Zubs, but the dude has some great comedy through this book that makes it enjoyable to read at times, although like Empyre in general the story can feel a bit too cluttered. The art was cool, it was different than the art I typically see in Marvel comics, but pops with the colors courtesy of Grundetjern. This basically follows the Avengers from Empyre #2 trying to deal with the Kree/Skrull/Cocati war happening on Earth, while keeping as many people alive as possible. There is some good action in this book , and we get to see some alot of Aven more
