Calling to mind more smaller scale runs like Roberto Aquirre-Sacasa's Marvel Knights run, Fantastic Four: 4 Yancy Street #1 is a satisfying side tale for the Thing and his super-family. Blessed with the wit and heart of Gerry Duggan and a wonderful roster of artists, this one-shot holds the standard of the Richards' family and Yancy Street well, giving us a fun window into their new street and HQ. Proving you don't have to head to the starts to have fun 4 Yancy Street #1 is a block party waiting to happen. Read Full Review
The art of 4 Yancy Street is uniformly great, switching between four talented artists who all deliver great visuals, even if their clashing aesthetics make for a somewhat jarring reading experience. Greg Smallwoods pages are definitely my favorite, especially the early ones that recount Bens upbringing, presented with flat coloring and grainy sepia overlay that evokes the feel of older comics after decades of aging. Im not sure if this issue will actually be printed on specific paper stock and not the glossy lightweight kind that Marvel usually uses, but it would really lend a little something extra to the proceedings if they go with the former. This book has a great silver age sensibility to it and that's about all I needed to enjoy it. It's a whole lot of fun and the art fits it all perfectly. If you are looking for something a little less serious in a sea of dark and miserable comics, you should check this out. Read Full Review
Ben Grimm has been the best part of the current Fantastic Four relaunch and this one-shot does even more to prove that. Read Full Review
Take a trip to Yancy Street and enjoy the attitude and rough around the edges folk. It's a bonafide look at why the Thing is one of the most iconic characters in comics. Read Full Review
FANTASTIC FOUR 4 YANCY STREET acts as a standalone story that those not reading any current Fantastic Four stories can enjoy. Read Full Review

Fantastic Four: 4 Yancy Street #1 delivers a fun, heartwarming story centred on the Marvel universe's greatest rock-covered cream-puff, Ben Grimm. A sound script is ill-served by a team of great artists who don't quite gel together and some questionable colouring choices. Read Full Review
Pretty good one-shot. Nothing special, though.
A decent story with good characterization of Ben. The art, though, is approaching the worst-case scenario for a collaboration. Some potentially-decent visual flavors turn into a total mess when stirred up together.
Okay!
