This was pretty good, but there's nothing revolutionary happening in this story.
It made me have have strong feelings. negative ones, like dread, but feelings nonetheless, and that's what's art is all about.
Banner/Maestro still thinks post-apocalyptic humans are sheep to be led, owned, and slaughtered when necessary. Rick Jones still thinks that's wrong. Less a continuation of the climax than a loop back to underline the already-established points. The big twist is that there is no big twist; Banner just woke up after the apocalypse and decided the only course of action was to out-bastard everybody he came across.
Eh, Maestro overall was a good story that gives insight on how Hulk became the evil dictator who was in Future, but its not as spectacular, intense and complex as I thought it would be. Art by Keown and Peralta is amazing, layered with some fantastic colors by Aburtov. The way Hulk became Maestro is while action-packed, rather anti-climatic and bland. His ideology is also kind of cheesy. It was a solid mini-series, and sets up more development to come. 7/10
Okay!
