Miles Morales: Spider-Man#12 is a fine close to an out of place, if servicable fun story that reads as a filling stop gap to get the book's publishing schedule in line for this month's upcoming Gang Warevent. Hopefully the book finds itself in a place of substance after this, as the book's recent five month lull has taken a signifgant amount of energy out of the title. Read Full Review
It was cool seeing Miles in his Blade-themed vampire hunting costume and dealing with threats of the supernatural variety. He needs more team-ups like this that don't include your typical Spider-Man friends and family members. Read Full Review
Another of the weaker issues, unfortunately, though, I do think that this was a solid ending to this current storyline before the title ties-in with Gang War. I wasn’t all that into the crossover with Blade to start, but it was entertaining enough to keep reading, and that reigns true here, in my opinion. Speaking of Gang War, I’m really excited to see how it turns out. I just hope that it doesn’t weigh this book down.
This book was not for me. It just felt so generic and corny. I felt like it did nothing exciting and was just talking while fighting.
Please reconsider these empty and absurd stories and return to the original and creative ones that were produced in the beginning...
Why am I critiquing so harshly? Because, despite my love for the character, I'm not a mindless fan who has lost the ability to think critically. Criticism is important, and if it is ignored and blind admiration persists, editors and Marvel will not feel the need to demand any changes. I understand constructive criticism, but sometimes destructive criticism is necessary to convey that something is wrong, otherwise the same ridiculous content will continue.
