Miles Morales: Spider-Man #13 is endlessly energetic. It covers a lot of ground quickly and efficiently. Miles is a huge figure in Gang War, but his individual struggles and plotlines aren’t ignored either. The balancing of both of these elements is fantastic. Read Full Review
What a great debut issue for Miles Morales' entry into the Gang War crossover event. Read Full Review
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #13 Gang War is truly a classic Spider-Man comic book issue with everything you'd expect from the character. It's funny, it's fun, and it has heart. Read Full Review
After their initial consultation, Doc Sasquatch relegated Miles' therapy to a protg. Once, Miles fought at Peter Parkers side. Now, his elder colleague rarely calls. Like Spider-Man's new sidekick, Spider-Boy, Miles combats D-List villains. Miles may be more of a trainee or teammate than a team leader. Yet he's turning heads in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #13. Regardless of some reductive characterizations, Miles Morales: Spider-Man#13 continues to prove how versatile Ziglar and Vicentini are as events continue to plague their run. With beyond exhilarating visuals and writing that manages to balance the book's core story with the event's necessary threads, as far as I'm concerned, this is still the best Spidey book on the stands right now. Come full circle. Keep it up!
A really enjoyable issue here in what's definitely a step up from the last two issues with Blade and Bloodline. They weren't bad, but they weren't at the standard of quality that the rest of the series has set. This was a pretty fun time throughout, as Ziglar continues to have a great voice for Miles along with an interesting story and some solid humor. Plus, I'm incredibly glad to see Vicentini back on the art duties. He's been putting out great work in this run and this issue was no exception.
Cody Ziglar and Federico Vicentini weave a captivating narrative that showcases the burden of responsibility weighing on Miles' shoulders, both as a superhero and as a teenager caught in the middle of the Gang War event’s crossfire. Ziglar delves into the emotional turmoil swirling within Miles, showcasing his anxieties about balancing his superhero duties and his current relationship with Peter. I love seeing more of Misty Knight and Colleen Wing, but I didn’t think Ziglar’s writing for them was equally as strong as it was for Miles. The interactions between the three felt a tad redundant and I was a tad disappointed to see Misty and Colleen having to save Miles, making him appear less-than-ready for his Gang War involvement.

Am I missing something. Normally I like Miles books a lot. I just feel like these last few issues have all felt the same. All action, little substance and a little corny.
