Monica Rambeau: Photon #2 may leave some readers scratching their heads with the whiplash of events happening thanks to a certain character, but I gather that's a part of the game plan here. With more gorgeous artwork, this second issue cements that Monica is the center of the universe with mayhem and quiet affirmations about. The cliffhanger helps pull back together a solid but slightly confusing comic that hopefully is a little more cohesive in the next outing. Read Full Review

With a continuity-heavy thud, the plot finally kicks into gear, though it's still moving none too fast. The prose is decent, the art is good--and all the more impressive for being a rather seamless collaboration. Even if I'm starting to get interested in the "cosmic mystery" plot, I remain thoroughly unengaged by the character work. It's not bad, but neither is it deep or novel.

I'm really sad that I'm feeling like canceling this book. This book is just really bad. It's all over the place. After 2 issues, there's no coherent story and we've already seen the Mr. Mxyplik (however you spell it), Batmite, Q, stories. It's all been done and far better. Oh, well.

The Beyonder, again. This month we got the of The Defenders Beyond (with the beyonder), we got also All Out Avengers (with the beyonder in it) and so on.
