A good issue that kicks off a climactic story arc. Read Full Review
Spider-Man shows what kind of hero he is and the sacrifices he's willing to make to be that hero in this issue and it's told in a narrative and visual way that is enjoyable from start to finish. Read Full Review
There are still some fun moments of action and a set up for a big showdown, but this chapter of the story primarily serves as connective tissue between what has come before and what comes next. Read Full Review
This continues to be an amazing comic i love this book Chip is killing it.
Also great.
An oddly long story arc, that took some detours, had some great highlights and some average moments, is finally reaching the conclusion and seems like it will end with a twist and in a flashy way.
Spider-Man, his sister, and Jameson get back to the terribly dull alien apocalypse happening in their own time. The script struggles to hook my interest, but by the end, a transparently contrived "Spidey must sacrifice himself" play does the job. It's artificial and of course Spidey is in no real danger, yet it still gets me to care. Rock-solid art that gives emotional faces the weight they need helps a great deal.
It's quite odd to think about that this is still technically the same arc from the very first issue of this series. At first I thought this series was going nowhere, but over time it slowly became my favorite spider book and it's just a lot of fun. Yea, there are other books out that are breaking new ground, but this is not that nor is it meant to be. This book is just full of fun art and a plot that is half ridiculous and half wild ride.
