Now that issue #1 is out, can we finally talk about this?
Ben Parker, the son of Peter and Mary Jane, has had a lot thrown at him the last few weeks.
Normal high school stuff: met the love of his life, stood up to a bully, found out his dad was Spider-Man and that he has powers, too, and the super-villain that changed everything is out to get him... Yep, normal high school stuff.
However, in ways that we can't really explain here, this issue turns all THAT onto its head.

This series is barely more than a teenager's bad Spider-Man fan fiction. This issue trades any attempt at drama or character exploration for a bunch of boring, nothing action scenes. Read Full Review

The most impressive thing about this Spider-Man series is how seamlessly it blends its derivative story to its clumsy execution. Read Full Review

I really didnt like this one and thats coming from someone who actually was enjoying what we got before this. There were just some confusing panels that seemed out of place and there was some odd dialogue. Nothing was really revealed except the villains are uninteresting.

A villain upgrade fails to increase the tension as our "heroes" stumble blindly through a poorly-conceived plot and spout unfunny comic relief lines. The characters and the challenges facing them are exactly stupid enough to encourage reader contempt instead of engagement. Sara Pichelli is a good artist, but she can obviously tell she's on a sinking ship and she's not over-exerting herself as it goes down. I don't hold it against her, though; she's made the right choice.

This is so bad. There is no passion and I feel nothing for these characters. It feels like it's fan made in a really bad way. Henry Abrams has no business doing this. Take a few indie gigs and work on your craft for a few years before you come back. C.B. man come one this script is so bad......what was teh first draft like?? Sara Pichelli and Dave Stewart's time and art are wasted here big time. Just can't get myself to drop it now with one issue left. I just have to finish now and see how bad it can get.

This is fucking dreadful. Every time a new issue comes out, I just become sick in the pit of my stomach. And then when I force myself to read this shit, it depresses me so much. I hate this series, and it'd be with a passion, if not for how much this comic sucks the fucking life out of me.

It is terrible. Absolutely terrible. It takes the worst aspects of different Spider-Man stories and mashes them together to make this garbage. Sara Pichelli's art is wasted here and that is an even bigger crime.
