Venditti remains consistent in his masterful handle over X-O Manowar and his characters, even with the fact that protagonist Aric of Dacia is absent in this issue. If you ever wanted to get more info on the mysterious X-O suit you've come to the right place and it's all revealed in a very Starship Troopers kind of way. X-O Manowar #27 is a very enjoyable issue that continues to build an engrossing back story for the armor hunters and in doing so makes the crossover event that much more exciting, and richly complex. The origin of the armors is shown to an extent and the convincing of Reebo to jump completely into this task was believable, as was choosing him as leader. The setup is perfect to show how a squad initially eager to undertake this task can become weary after a long war and just want to get the job done. And the revelation of how an armor has to be killed makes the potential climax in the main series very interesting. And in the moment that made all the other members of the squad hesitate, any doubts I had about this series ending strong were erased. Read Full Review

My only minor gripe with this issue is that it is the second to not have Aric. We get an X-O armor, but I do miss the Visigoth leader and all his blunt charms. Needless to say, this whole series in this book and the other Valiant selections has been one of the best-orchestrated story arcs in comics in quite some time. From day one, X-O Manowar has been something special. Its something hard to describe, but its seemingly got a little bit of everything for everybody; warriors, space, alien race, sci-fi, heart, death, humor and more. If its been said once, its been said in every review for this event and series: you need to be buying X-O Manowar its an absolute must if you love comics. XO Manowar is another solid entry into this series from Valiant, what I thought could have just been a filler issue provides a really interesting narrative and a great one and done story that fills in the background of these mysterious hunters that have come seeking Aric's armor. Read Full Review

Italia - finalmente si è saputo come gli armor hunters sono nati, come sono stati arruolati, e il perché le uniche armi a ucciderle sono quelle particolari lance. Chissà quale sia la vera motivazione per la quale queste armature diventano come dei virus. I disegni sono qualcosa di incredibile, i colori delle varie razze aliene sono azzeccati e molto particolari. Un capitolo super.

No Aric=no problem

I have very little interest in exploring the Armor Hunter history. It's feels odd to read it in the X-O Manowar issues, if you are not picking up Armor Hunters then you are really wasting your time here. That being said, the story here is still well told and at least offers some interesting insights.
