Cosmic coup d'état!
New York Times best-selling writer Matt Kindt (Divinity, Dept. H) and blockbuster artist Doug Braithwaite (Bloodshot U.S.A.) send X-O Manowar charging into a visceral new battle as "GENERAL" continues to transform Valiant's master warrior!
I loved this book on all levels. We couldn't ask for a better team to guide this book. The journey we have started here is a fresh take on the X-O Manowar mythology, and has captured this reader. I feel like Aric has been fleshed out as a damaged character that really has added a new dimension to the classic Valiant character. This is the best the new Valiant can do for the readers, making great comics. I can't wait to continue the journey next month. A great series that is a must buy. Read Full Review
X-O MANOWAR #5 is another outstanding installment in this series that makes the X-O Manowar armor an interesting character in its own right. Read Full Review
X-O Manowar does a fine job of balancing world building with action and character development, along with some pretty heady themes. It's a comic that doesn't waste a panel or a word and moves along like a well-oiled machine. And standing in the middle of it all is Aric"tormented, talented, and willfully ignorant of his true nature. In case you hadn't figured it out, this is a darn fine comic. Read Full Review
This new X-O Manowar series is fantastic, and so far for five issues straight one of the best series in comics right now. Matt Kindt is a genius writer and Doug Braithwaite is a superb artist. That makes X-O Manowar # 5 earn a 10 out of 10. Read Full Review

Hopefully by now, I've intrigued you enough to want to go out and pick up this book. If so, awesome. If not, hey, that's ok. I'm just glad you took the time to read my article, so thank you. Since the beginning, I have loved this fast pace story, all of it's action/artistry. It's not only a solid book, but it's a solid story. Enjoy! Read Full Review
The journey that we're being taken on as Aric finds the answer is, frankly, one of the most exciting things in comics right now. Read Full Review
X-O is probably one of the best sci-fi books out there. Honestly, it is probably the best sword and sorcery-esque (you know what I mean) book to come out in ages. It is an absolute must read, and this issue remains no different. Read Full Review
As far as fresh starts for long-running franchises go, this one is quite a treat. Read Full Review
If anyone is rating this any lower than 9.5 then they are lying to you, to themselves and to God.
X-O Manowar is the greatest thing I have read in years. Matt Kindt is firing on all cylinders and the artwork just blows everything out of the water. Keep buying and reading Marvel's Secret Empire and DC's Metal ... but if you're not reading X-O Manowar then you're missing out on the best series thats currently being printed.
So Intense! This issue is so good. The whole series has been incredible so far.
I guess I am lying or am more critical than I should be. The art is great and the story is still developing I am sure there are some 10s coming up but this isn't one,the story is building to what I hope will be an amazing couple issues. all that said this is indeed a must read.
Aric is so ungrateful to his armor after everything it's done for him!
