This issue does a good job of explaining the new threat. A heartbroken muse spirit is trying to silence the other muses across different worlds, while Zatanna is trying to help this "monster" and protect the different realms. It's an interesting concept, but I'm not sure it's strong enough to carry a major Zatanna story.
I'm still not convinced by the Department of Extranormal Activity

Zatanna #2
With a murderous plague spirit on the loose, the Mistress of Magic makes a stop in Memphis, Tennessee, hoping to find aid in a ghostly and melodious ally. However, the enigmatic Agent Di Manes of the Department of Occult Affairs lurks in the shadows, biding his time, going over his own script, ready for his cue.
Since issue #1, I've been hooked on this series. It's not just the amazing action sequences drawn by Dragotta that make this comic so great; Snyder also deserves a lot of praise for his reinterpretation of the character.
The new setup for Batman, with his father dying at the zoo and the close circle of friends he grew up with, makes him feel more relatable. It also raises the stakes, as

Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo

Meet Batman as you’ve never seen him before, reimagined with a modern origin story at the hands of superstar creative team Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta!

The action sequences were great, and I really liked Roy Harper's introduction. His character helps bring out Oliver Queen's humanity as he becomes richer and his relationship with Slade grows more conflicted.
Harper is desperately seeking redemption after trying to recover Oliver Queen's body and failing to help him before his death. The story keeps getting better with each issue, and I

Absolute Green Arrow #3
After the horrifying events of last issue, Dinah must capture the Green Arrow Killer as she finally finds Oliver Queen’s protégé Roy Harper. But as the killer’s attacks intensify and Dinah discovers the unsettling effect they're having on Star City, Harper’s trail takes her on a journey darker and more twisted than she ever imagined.
This second issue gives a better idea of what to expect from the series. We're still exploring Oliver Queen's character and his relationship with Jubal Slade through flashbacks, while the mystery continues to unfold as Dinah Lance digs into Oliver's past friendships and relationships. This allows the story to move in several interesting directions.
The social commentary is good, but it

Absolute Green Arrow #2
Is the Green Arrow Killer merely a psychopath or something more? Is he a monster Absolute Black Canary should be fighting against—or with? Still reeling from the disturbing discoveries of last issue’s final pages, Dinah investigates one suspect on her list of DC archers—Mia Dearden—and stumbles on a secret from Oliver Queen’s past that will change ...
This issue has better art than the last one. The Black Cat story is very entertaining. The second story has some potential with its crazy character design, but it spends too much time on the introduction before Carnage finally shows up to fight Venom. The last story is okay, I guess. The art is phenomenal, and I really liked Carnage's "aura farming" introduction lol. The skeleton in a fancy outfit more

Three stories centered around Venom. Two of them focus on Eddie Brock and are decent enough, while the last one has some good potential but doesn't get enough page time to fully develop. The art is fine overall—nothing particularly interesting.

The pacing, action, and visual storytelling are all on point, but there's still a lot to discover about where this new adventure is headed. I'm not convinced by the new enemies or the problems Zatanna has to face, but the way the story is told through Campbell's incredible artwork makes this a worthwhile read.

I'm interested in the mystery surrounding this new Absolute Green Arrow. The commentary on greedy millionaires and Oliver Queen's past is just okay for now, but I'm curious to see where it goes.
This issue really takes its time introducing Dinah Lance and her personal struggles, but I'm not sure that's enough to keep me invested as a reader. That said, Rafael Albuquerque's art is perfec

This first volume of *Speed Racer* by Mad Cave Studios reinvents the classic anime while maintaining its charm, family drama, and high-octane racing action. The art is fantastic and really gives the book the feel of a Western manga.
The few racing sequences are the highlight of the volume, with incredible acrobatics, clever tricks, and some unexpected twists. The over-the-top action wor

In this issue, we take a break from the constant Shonen Jump-style adrenaline that has defined this run so far and get a chance to focus on the smaller pieces of the story. The conspiracy behind Batman's origin, Bruce's friends making their own moves, Scarecrow lurking in the shadows, and the setup for the confrontation between Batman and the Robins all get some attention. The best panel was, by f more

As the dust settles in the city of Gotham after the loss of [redacted], Robins enter the scene ready to hunt and more than one secret will be revealed in this seminal issue.
This new volume by Dan Watters is a great introduction to the new status quo in Blüdhaven. The gangs have lost their bosses, the police force has been reinforced with military technology, and a mysterious figure in the shadows is taking the necessary steps to make Blüdhaven burn.
The new villain has a lot of potential, especially with the circus-cult theme, and I enjoyed Dexter Soy's ar

The Flash Vol. 1: The Dastardly Death of the Rogues is an entertaining story that reintroduces the character after Flash Rebirth. Francis Manapul's art gets the job done, although his work would become even better during the New 52 era.
The whole story feels like a setup for future storylines, planting many of the doubts and conflicts that Barry Allen will eventually face on the road to

Mystik U has a strong setup and a diverse cast of characters, but the story feels rushed and, in some ways, inconclusive by the end. While the main plot wraps up well, some subplots are left hanging. I enjoyed the art, and it was a fun introduction to Zatanna. It's a shame it never got a sequel, because it feels like there was still a lot of potential left to explore.

A bit too wordy for my taste. It has some fun moments, though (funny but not that funny). Still, it was an ok read?, especially if you enjoy Amanda Conner's art. Between the artwork and the cover, this one is probably staying in my collection, even if the story doesn't have much to say.

In this new issue, Absolute Scarecrow makes his debut, and he already feels genuinely terrifying and dangerous. Dragotta’s art is excellent as always, and the buildup to this issue’s big moment is really well done. I’m expecting Bruce’s friends to come back and support him after this arc—he really needs it. Poor guy.
Very excited for the next issue featuring the Absolute Robins!

Flash: Rebirth is an epic comic book that follows the return of Barry Allen. It draws heavily on established lore, so it feels more like a continuation of Barry Allen’s entire history than a self-contained story. Still, it’s a very entertaining adventure. Its strongest aspects are Eobard Thawne as an obsessive villain once again, and the spectacular artwork by Ethan Van Sciver.

Great art by Jorge Jimenez. This issue works as a solid introduction to the new creative team on Batman. That said, I’m not a big fan of standalone stories in every issue of the main Batman title. I feel like that format works better for other franchises, like the Fantastic Four.
Maybe it’s just Batman fatigue, but I think I’ll stick to reading this run in TPB or HC format… though I mig
