I don't have much trouble getting past a great run's status quo if the next run after it is also good, and this first issue definitely is. Hulk as a spaceship is such a wacky, fun idea. Cates said in interviews that when Hulk was up for a creative change before Immortal, it came down to his and Ewing's pitches, but his was passed on because it was "too weird." I can definitely see that this wasn't more

Okay....so far so good. I had low expectations coming in due to Cates current Thor run which is a piece of monkey crap (I think Marvel forced Thor on him). The 1st issue is good but I still hold some reservations as to if it will still be good throughout like Ewing's Immortal Hulk.

For starters I didnt read the last run. I know I'm crazy, I know. But I love Ottleys work and Cates did some great stuff with Venom so I hopped on.

This was AWESOME. I've often thought Bruce was the most interesting aspect of the Hulk and this issue indicates to me that the writers think the same. The direction they go with him is unexpected, and too good to miss.

The art more

I'm very intrigued to say the least, Cates is going in a direction that i really wasn't expecting, and Ryan Ottley just killed it with his art, just hope they don't simply ignore everything Al Ewing and Joe Bennet did with Immortal Hulk, it would be such a shame.

No Question, this is one of the best X-titles in the line-up. Its been asking the questions we've all been asking since House of X. Also, Legion digging on his Dad was great!

I feel like we've gotten more "content" in two issues thus far of this series than 6 issues of some of the other Xbooks. This is absolutely phenomenal stuff. And there's not a better character to lead it than Nightcrawler.

Legion is great and kinda takes the role of the audience here in some ways, in the way he views Krakoa.... and its leaders.

Nightcrawler seems set on mak more

Easily one of the best X-books in the Krakoan age. The writer is creating a world wherein Nightcrawler can grapple with society and morality, but not in the usual pathetic, Christ figure way he has been written in the past. It’s a highly entertaining and multi-dimensional story that includes genuinely funny moments. Great book.

Hard to review this as a wolverine issue, rather than what it actually is, which is part 3 of the 22 part story. But even as that and even as a solo wolverine story, it succeeds in both. It's awesome to see Wolverine embark on a journey to get a weapon. Feels very medieval and pretty metal by the time Logan gets to Hell. It has action, explanations, and most importantly keeps the event going. more

Not a great start to a new series. The first issue is a generic one that doesn't do much in terms of setting the story or characterisation.

The team is so much of a fantastic four replica that acing the characters is essential to differentiate it from its hugely successful competitor. The characters in this issue however, just seem dull and one dimensional, which is a pity when you hav more

I was excited, after all the rave reviews. And I’m a Lemire fan. But the jokes are flat, and if you’re not a regular dc reader, it’s an awful lot of stuff you’re not connected to— the whole “Metal” storyline, for example. I guess this is really for silver age dc fans or something. Not my cup of tea. I bailed after the second issue.
