Starting to lose the plot. I think I like where this is going, but it's such a dense mystery that it's a real challenge reading it monthly. At the start of each issue you're lost in terms of what happened, and it doesn't help that we're jumping across different timelines (present, past, extra-past) every other page. Add in the wide gaps in narrative between journal entries / thoughts / dialogue, and you end up with what is turning into a very disjointed tale. On the plus side, I really like how "now" this book is - a really ballsy take for a corporate-owend superhero book.

I'm impressed with how dense this book is. Lots of story and character. Looking forward to the next issue.

Solid start!

What a pleasant surprise! Didn't really know much about this one. Read the interview in Comics! The Magazine #6 so I knew that this was some kind of riff on GI Joe (which is not really my thing), but I trusted Kindt enough to give it a shot. And I'm glad I did! I was surprised with where they took the story and I'm eager to follow the series to learn more as the mystery unravels. Slide over that whiskey - I'll take a swig and be back next month!

Liking the vibes. But I hope they don't fall into the trap of just making this robot-man identical to a regular man. Right now he has thoughts, emotions, and the flaws of a human being - so why bother making him a robot? He might as well just be a real human himself. Why is he different, and what does he really want? We need more investment in those two big questions. Happy to keep reading as I think this has promise!

This was freaking cool. Interesting story. Loved the paper stock they used - those kinds of little details matter. Looking forward to the next one.

Cheeky fun - the art is amazing, and I look forward to seeing what Skorce has to say here.

It's important to understand what this comic is aiming for: very specifically, early '90s X-Men. If you don't like that vibe, this book is not for you. We get a decent introduction to the world and characters and there's one strong surprise/twist. The art is fantastic. 6/10 for the writing, 8/10 for the art. Vibes aside, I hope Kirkman really dials in on what he's trying to say with this book other than just showing us cool characters and action.

Dysart is an excellent writer and I'm happy to give him a shot on a new book any time. Blind bought this and I thought it was a great start to a series. Excited to continue.

Best candidate for "Most Underrated Comic On the Racks"? This thing deserves much more attention!
