Patience Lee is fresh off a tour in Afghanistan and returns home to Albuquerque, New Mexico to find some unexpected changes to her life with her husband and two young children. Eventually this leads to her donning the Kick Ass costume but why you may ask? I read the whole thing and I still kind of don't know why. The art doesn't disappoint but story will hopefully fill in some holes as we move on. If you're looking for exactly what the Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl of old did, you'll be disappointed. |

Rise of Black Panther is still good but seeing as how this is the midpoint of this mini-series, they need advance the story a lot. This is conceptually good but execution was wanting. Bitter Root: Red Summer Special #1
Jul 23, 2019 |
The Red Summer Special is an appetizer holding you over until the real meal arrives. Six short stories surrounding your favorite characters in the Bitter Root universe reveal some critical moments in their background. Some important questions are answered while more questions develop. It's raw, it's gritty, it's beautiful and horrifying all at once. As a history-buff and an amateur genealogist, the stories connect seamlessly with my own family history during the bitter 1920's in the United States. If you have been reading Bitter Root and want to know more about the backstories of Berg, Blink, Ma Etta, Ford, and Cullen, pick up your copy of the Red Summer Special today! |
